Did Democrats really ruin California?
As a resident for 15 years, yes, democrats have absolutely ruined California for business, families and anyone who wants to use water for cleaning themselves.
Every town has a piss poor economy, even during boom times. Only businesses who saddle up to local government have a chance at success, and that by definition is unfair. The regulations are excessively burdensome.
You will submit to government at every step in business and residential planning, pay, wait, be told NO, change your plans to something they find acceptable, pay, and be told NO again, change again, and finally be told yes.
I watched a guy go up before a city council two weeks ago and literally cry because the governing historical society would not allow him to fix his leaking roof, without planning meeting and approval by a board, who doesn’t meeting until 45 more days.
There is no private property freedom in California. I watched 20 restaurants close in the city that I worked for, none came back after Covid-19. The shutdowns killed businesses.
It’s all about government control in California, to with your rights, desires or dreams. Even before Covid-19, every city has failed, half-completed projects, whether residential or business. They are everywhere.
Over 50 percent of store fronts are empty, before Covid-19. I have photos proving this to be true. There are empty commercial lots and buildings in the middle of cities that have been empty for 50 years. There is nothing good about the governing powers in California.
The smallest, cleanest looking cities are even corrupt. They all see themselves as banks, lending to their business friends tax dollars for private business, risking where banks should be doing the risking.
I watched last week as my city manager negotiated a 300k per year salary. His staff does the work, he takes all the credit before a corrupt city council, and he literally fights against his own staff getting raises. I recall him complaining publicly about the police department needing one million dollars per year for four new hires, which included vehicles and equipment.
This guy is a greedy, corrupt piece of and people like him are the problem. He even bribed staff with extra pay, vacation time and gift cards to take the vaccine, even if doctors said they should not take it. I have the whole meeting recorded. This guy is corrupt as and if it’s any indicator, this small, wealthy city is a microcosm of what’s happening in the whole state.
