That's also a problem with a coach that came from the NCAA and never had to deal with professional egos before. Some make the transition ok (Dean Smith tree) and some don't.

I can't believe they haven't replaced the coach yet. If he was black he'd have been gone before KD was.

I don't know why we traded him in the first place...
if it takes the max to get him you will be sorry for asking for this ...I dont even think Lakers should pay max for him but we probably will ...if given the chance.

on this i agree ...westbrook has tried so hard to integrate he has been far less aggressive. You see against State he was hyper agressive yet still looked for open team-mates. not sure Russ can lead a team any other way ...
... they're still last in passes per game in the NBA. I don't buy for a ing second that Westbrook is "buying in", he's still hunting for triple doubles every single night.

He gets angrier about missing a triple double than he does about losing.

Up 20, the MVP with a history of injuries is still in the game with 2 minutes left, trying to get assists and running into traffic.

Westbrook is a low IQ guy that thinks that being less agressive equals getting others involved. The big 3 taking turns isoing isn't the same as getting everyone involved. They need to start moving the ball around and create some kind of offensive flow.

They need a coach with a flowing system and enough clout to ego check superstars. Like phil did with Shaqobe or Riles did with Shaqade

I love how Westbrook's haters just love to praise guys like Waiters, Oladipo and Sabonis for padding their stats on mediocre, irrelevant teams. Meanwhile, every time Westbrook has a good game, they start whining about how "all he does is pad his stats."

First, those "mediocre teams" all have similar records than the Thunder, or better. And they aren't rocking two other former All-NBAs.

The difference is that Westbrook is who Westbrook is.

He did this with Harden and Durant.

He did this with Durant and Ibaka.

He did this with Oladipo and Adams.

And now he's still the same player with Melo and George. The question is not whether Russ is a gifted player, because he proved that last year. The question is whether he can ever fit into a contender, but he still goes along taking poor shots, slacking on defense, and just focusing on getting his.

Westbrook fit in just fine with a contender that went to the Finals and made several deep playoff runs in the West, tbh.

The real problems with the Thunder are Donovan and Melo. Donovan is your typical, run-of-the-mill bad NBA coach. He has no system, his rotations are all off, and he thinks he can just roll the ball out and win like he usually did at Florida. As for Melo, he is one of the biggest cancers and most overrated players in recent memory. OKC would have been better off not trading for him and sticking with just Westbrook and George.

Durant for as much of an unlikeable “tough guy” act he’s portraying finally realized he wasn’t gonna be able to do jack with this clown. Props to him for that.
