Kawhi should be back soon
Great news..Looks like Kawhi could even back within a week-10 days..Leonard has played two sessions of 5-on-5, going both halfcourt and full. At shootaround this morning at the FedEx Forum, Leonard practiced with the full team for the first time, Popovich said.
“Those are the last steps,” Popovich said. “That’s what Tony (Parker) did before he came back.”

“When he says, ‘I feel I can go,’ then he’s got to convince me,” Popovich said. “Because I’m going to err on the conservative side. We’ll see. He’s too valuable to bring back early.”

TP took 6 weeks after being cleared for full practice to finally make his season debut. I say this still puts Kawhi in line for a January return. Were he to return earlier, I would be nothing short of thrilled.
He's wrong. You want to know Kwahi's value. Look at the Spurs with Kawhi and w/out Kawhi in the WCF against GS. Lots of teams can still win in the RS where chances are you play a lottery team every 3rd game. But to compete in the playoffs requires stars.

His whole argument is built on some very faulty premises. For example, the Spurs aren't just as good without Kawhi. They went from elite, last year, to just pretty good this year

I'm pretty sure I've heard this before. I don't know if Gilbert was the one that said it or if it was someone else. I know I've heard what Gilbert said somewhere before, a year or two ago, maybe 3 years ago, but not sure if Gilbert was the one that said it back then. If it was him, then yeah, he definitely believes it.
IMO, Kawhi does not do too well with sticking with speedy PGs. That's the only aspect of his defense that isn't great IMO. In the Mavs series in 2014 it was driving me insane when Monte Ellis was blowing by him at will at the end of some of those games, especially game 6 of that series in Dallas. Kawhi couldn't seem to stick with him at all.
Anyway, I don't know why I'm even talking about what Gilbert Arenas is saying. I just care that Kawhi comes back healthy and more importantly then even that, he stays healthy once he does come back. Don't rush him back if he needs a little more time.

They may not have seen the other thousand Kawhi injury threads.I think I've been reading this since last playoffs with different reports ranging from if he hurt himself training hard during the summer or that his body hasn’t reacted well to treatment or the doctors hadn’t encountered such an injury but ever (wtf?). Or that if Kawhi suffers from postpartum depression or that he is afraid to play through pain, among other things.
At this point I do not know what to believe anymore. Sadly. So lets pour one for this hommie’s fragile body and hope he comes back anytime soon.
