I agree with OP. He's a great player but he's not really a superstar. I think it's because Pop shelters him too much.
He's legit top five in the league when he's healthy but Pop doesn't let him play enough to get any stats and that's how you define superstars these days.
You're not going to find too many people as good as he is on both ends of the floor in the clutch, I doubt you find anyone other than LeBron and maybe not even him.
Kobe made his living from the FT line. And I've never seen a player complain more to the officials than Kobe did. Literally on almost every single play, especially his last few seasons. It was painful to watch.
