They might. But only if Rudy and Kawhi both play about 25 games going forward.
That's the bottom line.. the Spurs need Kawhi and Rudy to ball out. In the playoffs Kawhi's gotta get 30+. Rudy's gotta be around 20, if not more.
As this team is currently constructed....put it like this, if Kawhi doesn't play at least 25 games going forward, the Spurs are MILK TOAST. Without Kawhi and probably Rudy too, this team doesn't sniff 50. Without Kawhi going forward the Spurs will most likely drop in the standings.

A couple of months ago I read a poster say "everybody's playing the beautiful game but us" that sure sounds about right with this team.

Yep. The way the team is currently playing, it could drop completely out of the playoffs.

This. I'm kind unhealthily obsessed with them winning at least 50.

It's looking like the Pats dynasty might out last ours....makes me sick.

This season was surely set up for Kawhi to get numbers. If the Klaw was healthy from day one he'd be averaging at least 30.
Kawhi's numbers would probably be close to this; 32ppg 7rpg 5.5ast 2stl 1blk...and the Spurs would probably be second in the west. Kawhi would have been MVP.

I think they'll make it but they need to be healthier. Pop shuts too many more players down then no.

I believe Kawhi will be back, Manu back, Gay will be back, Parker will get better, Green will get better. The team will build a little momentum right around...say...March or so.

I think the team will eventually play a little better when Manu and Gay come back and scrape by 50. Still, they're first round fodder regardless.

Yeah they will. Probably get to 53-54 wins with the Spurs scraping by in several of the wins. Just depends how soon Kawhi and Manu plan on coming back.

I easily see any of the current WC teams in the lower bracket whopping our asses good in the first round. Especially OKC

They've already played 51 games and have a record of 32-19. Gotta win 18 of the last 31 games.

Gotta win almost 60% of the games with one of the hardest schedules left.

Might do it. If Pop continues to see what he's got in the kiddies, then it will be tougher to win some of the close games. It's quite a balancing act between trying to keep Kwahi on board with some wins and progress and the ability of the roster to develop. I'm looking at the glass as half full.

If Kawhi comes back, only 2 teams in the NBA can beat us. So 60% is nothing.

now on pace for the first time this season to finish with less than 50. might be for the best that PATFO gets their nose rubbed in this roster they assembled tbh, if just for the ego check going forward.

    34-21

Have to go 16-11 at worst to do it. With the toughest remaining schedule, I just don't see it.

The toughest remaining schedule according to SOS but has anyone actually seen it? It's ing ridiculous with a lot of games against the Warriors, Rockets and teams that gives us trouble like the Jazz and the Pelicans. There's also OKC and the TWolves, Portland, Milwaukee... a bunch of them on the road too. So between now to the end of the season and then they can only lose 11 games? Yeah not doing it.

I didn't even mention 2 games on the road against the Nuggets, 2 against Washington and 2 against the Lakers. Yeah the last team was "lol" but not so "lol" this year when we lost to those ers.
