Kareem never stumbled like your Duncan did, MM.

Duncan was extremely careful through the years. He never made a mistake until she wanted out...then he made one error after another in quick succession that culminated in compounding his misery. It was amazing in the circa, yes, but, even more so as we get a look at it at distance. He built his life painstakingly one brick at a time, making sure each block was secure. This enabled him to be free to pursue his career without worry, or rumination. That was not by accident, or luck. He accounted for everything.

They made a deal. She had no problem understanding and blessing his sexual yearnings for men. She wanted love. She wanted wealth, she wanted children, she wanted status. So, they signed it. But, girl turned to woman, bore children and a physiological upheaval took place in her. (Man) cannot understand that, he cannot see that. "We made a deal!" He'd always protected from within, scoping the outside world. "I'm safe in here, no problem. When they come they'll come from out there."
Well, of course when it came it came from within, as close as humanly possible. Even then if he'd a turned loose she'd a been glad to go quietly, that was always her intent. She'd loved him, genuinely loved the man with all her heart, still had love for him. Had nothing to do with sex. Sex & love have very little in common. But, she'd changed & the more he grabbed on and symbolically placed his hand over her mouth, the more she panicked, pulled away and told the tale.

The '13 Duncans are a fascinating study. The perfection that encompassed Duncan, his life and his profession lost it's structure and failed. That he was able to sustain it's soundness thru all those games is a testament to him and his life plan and execution of it. Even after it broke wide open he still believed he could hold on..."I'll show 'em." Not "her" but "me," the haters. He'd show "me." "See, 'Dale,' I did it. I was gong to lose her anyway, but, I still won the last game I played."...forgetting that if he'd a set her free at the third, not the first, or second warning from her, but, the third he still would've lost her, but, he'd have that NBA le & his "secrets."

    That's not a (stumble) that's an opportunity for (7).

-Musburger---"How does it feel Kareem to get your 5th NBA le?"
-Jabbar---"6th, not my 5th. That one in Milwaukee."
-Musburger---"Oh, sorry. I forgot about that one."
    -Jabbar---"Everybody does."

That was his 6th, amb. That never happened to Jabbar. He got 6 and never had to surrender a single one.

Take your medicine, son. Ultimately the blame rests solely with Duncan. In the black of night he stipulates to this blame. & like I said= Duncan came this||close to getting away with his monumental error Scot free. That's the place I'd hang my hat, in the same black of night. It is there that your salvation gleams. It is there where you can fantasize your deliverance, before "waking" & sustaining life.
Are you better off with Florida? Of course not. But, now you know. Now. You've-been-touched. There is something to be said for that baptism of boundless regret & after-the-fact knowledge. It is your choice whether you permit it to drive you mad, or, embrace for what it is, to you.

Duncan holds that L but I blame pop.
Yes we know Timmy couldn't defend pnr well at that point... But a gamer like Tim you leave in he wasn't 2018Dirk on defense... He overcoached trusted analytics whatever..
Tim finds a way to bring that home because for 20-30 secs that close to a chip... I trust Tim not to let himself to get beat for a loose rebound...or completely blow a coverage on defense.
Spur fan is right tho if they win that year no way they repeat... They knew they let one slip and the next year they were out for redemption... Same as Lakers in 1985 after te tragic Finals of 84...

& I could be wrong. It's like all those people who swore Tiger Woods would make a comeback, but, only win 1 more Major. I couldn't understand this thinking to save my life, but, maybe they're right.
