The Football Brainiacs mentioned that they're not expecting OL Javonne Shepherd to make a commitment today.
He wanted to do something on his birthday (today), but that's no longer the plan as he wants to take official visits in the fall.
Update on LB Maninoa Tufono of Honolulu, HI after visiting Texas (24/7):
“It was unbelievable,” Tufono said. “I’m grateful to the staff for bringing me and my family here to spend time with the and keep building a relationship. It was great talking to Coach (Todd) Orlando and Coach (Tom) Herman."
“When they say Texas takes care of Texas, I’ve seen it, and it’s all true. It’s all family there. The facilities blow you away. But first and foremost, it’s the coaching staff and the family atmosphere.”
“Coach Orlando has a lot of wisdom,” Tufono said. “He’s a great guy to learn from. They have me playing the Mike linebacker. I would love to learn more from (Orlando) and learn more about my position.”
“(Langi) is someone I can relate to,” Tufono said. “There aren’t a lot of Polynesian guys or guys from Hawaii in Texas, but I’m willing to build my own name and start that Polynesian pipeline for kids from Hawaii. They said they want someone to do that and me and guys like Faatui Tuitele are trying to do that.”
“I have to say Texas is up there,” Tufono said. “They are close to being at the top of my schools right now. I just felt the love and the family atmosphere and the national championship mentality they have.”
Well that goes without saying
It does look like he made it.... EJ has been hinting today that this could drop this week to the Horns.

We have all the $ necessary to rebuild a national contender.
The city and history are there. It’s a matter of picking the right people and that may not be enough.
I feel like Austin is so laid back, disinterested and diverse that the hunger and drive like an Alabama and Ohio St. have are very difficult to overcome. Columbus and Tuscaloosa... what you gonna do? Seriously, all they have is football. It’s very important. Same with OU. Their whole Fn state follows them. They are Manchester City or Manchester United amongst London teams (us) with other things to do and see. Focus may be really difficult.
DE Marcus Stripling of Katy Mayde Creek told A&M 24/7 he does plan on taking an official visit to UT this fall.

Update on 2020 WR Demond Demas of Houston North Forest after attending Texas' recruiting event two weeks ago (24/7):
“It was fun, man,” Demas said. “I had a great experience hanging out with the players and just swimming. I like that Texas is close to home and how it feels like family. My family can watch me play here every Saturday.”
“Texas bumped up to No. 2 on my list,” Demas said. “Texas A&M was in front of them, but now, Texas is No. 2. Alabama is No. 1 right now. That’s my Top 3 right there and then I released the other schools.”
“I’ve talked to him (Javonne Shepherd) about playing together forever,” Demas said. “I mean, since Day 1. I would love to play with him at the next level as much as I love to play with him in high school.”
