Inside Texas saying Herman and Del Conte want this to be a big visit showcase for recruiting.
The only downside is Alabama and LSU are having their spring games that day too.
I will update the front page.
Moved mins to TE the other day.
Inside Texas saying Herman and Del Conte want this to be a big visit showcase for recruiting.
The only downside is Alabama and LSU are having their spring games that day too.
Spring practice is starting on Tuesday, March 20th.
I'll add to the first page.
Lots of LSU crystal balls coming in for ATH Marquez Beason of Dallas Bishop Dunne.
24/7 reporting LSU made a huge impression on him this past weekend, but A&M may still have a slight edge.
Texas no longer appears to be in his top schools, and important to keep in mind he wants to play DB.
Especially since they just dominated the Big 12 so they looked for stiffer compe ion?
Wacked Aggies. They must be so proud of Alabama.
Texas does not make the final 3 for WR Arjei Henderson. I'm not real sure how hard Texas pushed, but him already decommitting twice may have been reason for pause.
Hard to know what was said to his father this weekend, but I do think Herman wants Henderson since he's a great talent.
The problem is his recruitment is like navigating a mine field a la DT Jordan Elliott or WR Justin Watkins.
You never know when they're going to flake, if they'll have grade issues, etc.
I think I said it a few weeks ago, but the new official visit rule is going to be killer for kids like Henderson. He'll use all, or most of, his visits early and then de-commit for a third time.
A few notes from 24/7...
-Texas is a "dream school" TE Jared Wiley of Temple. A&M has the edge right now for TE Baylor Cupp of Brock.
-ATH Jeffrey Carter is currently torn between A&M and Texas. Although he loved his recent trip to UT and has a good relationship with Coach Naivar, A&M also made a big impression on him and he trains with S Brian Williams of Dallas Bishop Dunne who is recruiting him hard.
Another "proceed with caution" recruitment.
Notre Dame gets a commitment from DT Hunter Spears of Sachse.

LB De'Gabriel Floyd of Westlake Village, CA talks about his weekend visit to UT (24/7):
“It went great,” Floyd said. “I didn’t have many questions because they answered them without me even asking. I felt like every coach was my best friend in a way. They answered things about my major, the academic part of the school and the people that help athletes with academics.”
“Coach Orlando and I have a great relationship,” Floyd said. “He wants me to play between outside linebacker and rover. When we went over the schemes, I was really interested in it. Everything went really well."
“Coach Orlando is really energetic and a fun guy. He’s looking for the best, and he’ll make you better. That’s what I’m looking for in a coach.”
“Texas is really high,” Floyd said. “I can’t even describe it — just the atmosphere. Coming down here, I felt really comfortable. I didn’t feel out of place. It just felt like home to me. Texas is up there.”

USC offered WR Elijah Higgins and TE Baylor Cupp today.
Looks like he'll be a big guy to only be a sop re and already taller than Sam.
A reminder that ATH Jaren Mangham of Detroit, MI should be visiting UT tomorrow.

Didn't Robison also have a crazy verticle? I think he was also 40+ at 260 lbs.
Getting this cat on campus is huge, if Texas can make a big impact on him I think he can open some doors for Texas to recruit Hawaii, and Samoa much more heavily.
Robison was the freakiest of freak athletes to ever come out of East Texas. Not only could he jump, but he could throw the shot and discuss a solid country mile. No wonder he's been in the NFL for so long.
