I'm not completely sure his role in the baylor mess but Major Applewhite thinks he's ok.
So will a P5 school. Very soon. He'll hang 50 on Tech in Lubbock this week.
Herman already hired Horny as a quality control coach, and he was Baylor's Director of Football Ops for nine years.
He may be desperate for offense in December and his seat could be extremely hot, so no telling who he'd try to hire in order to save his job.
Whether Del Conte would allow such a scenario to unfold, or whether Kendal would even entertain a UT offer are different issues entirely.
No doubt there would be a lot of what ifs with it.
All I know is he can coach. And I don't hear anyone in Houston griping.
I doubt Major cared about Kendal's reputation, and you can get away with that hire at Houston.
His personal issues aside and speaking strictly football, Kendal's mentality is exactly what UT needs right now.
He runs a simple, highly effective scheme and doesn't care if he's up by 7 or 77 because he's going for your throat.
Herman and Beck so far have shown they'll run tempo when they're losing, or sit on leads and be conservative when they're winning.
