just take away the "going to the ground language"
possession + 2 feet (or a knee, etc) + any football move (reaching towards goal line) = catch
none of that "maintain throughout the process" stuff
Dez caught it.

Cowboys fans knew this the whole time
Everyone with at least an ounce of common sense knew this already. The rule is just written poorly.
If a receiver ever has total control of the ball, it should be a catch. Forget the ground. Dez caught the ball, Jesse James caught the ball.
wasn't a catch according to the rules at the time, they want it to be a catch going forward tbh
See that word.....should?
lol you were wrong
lol Nick mother ing Foles taking your cookie
Dez caught it.
sorry i only like merit-based catches
lol still whining about one call in a 2nd round playoff game.
lol kids old enough to buy liquor have never seen the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.
lol acting like 2nd round of the playoffs is like some preseason game
lol Shady Brady and Bellicheat will always be know for one thing: cheating their asses off
Funny how it took a call that went against the Steelers to make this a serious discussion.
also a superbowl where it came up twice
on another note where do you get your XL tinfoil hats from?
Those aren't mentioned in the article or any of the quoted parties because those calls weren't botched, dip . Calvin's catch was 2010, Dez 2014...so apparently the Jesse James play was the last straw.
Are you just lonely and looking for an argument in EVERY thread again? Dude you live in SoCal and are supposedly an attorney. Either you have no clients, still haven't passed the bar, or have zero social life.
Log off, it won't kill you
i thought the same thing. If it hurt the Steelers or Peyton, or helped the Patriots, those rules get changed real in quick.
Don't forget that John Mara is the ringleader of this cause too, as if they could make it any more obvious
except the james play is the one where they said there's no consensus on whether that one should or shouldn't be a catch
and oh, ok. i'll take all that into consideration
i think the rule is better as it is now. it allows for y pricks to look dumb as when they start celebrating before they even secured the ball.
Except that nobody has ever had a catch reversed because of that.
