Markkanen was part of the Butler trade. He, Lavine, and Dunn put up a combined 45 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists a game. And they’re all super young. Jimmy Butler is not averaging 45/15/10. Now statistical production at some point has to translate into wins. But Butler wasn’t helping them win either. Good trade by Chicago imo.

Dinwiddie is having a fine year considering he came out of nowhere. Kris Dunn is actually putting up a slightly better statistical year, both on bad teams. They may have miscalculated on Dinwiddie, but Dunn will be right there in the conversation for most improved as well.

Chicago seems to actually be making some solid moves as they try to start all over.
