If it's a normal year (meaning 50+ games won by now and a playoff seed secure) I'd agree, but this team has had so many injuries, they need this time to build chemistry and trust. not to mention a little slippage can put them out the playoffs. I think they'll be all in these last 9 games
True but I worry about Lamarcus wearing down bc of his heavy load and if you rest him for one game then it might as well be considered a throwaway game in which case Pop may rest others (the oldies) too but you are right in that they can’t afford to throw games cavalierly abd Aldridge himself may want to press on. I agree with you they need all the momentum and chemistry they can get.

Love Gay as a LMA-lite off the bench. Just having the option of essentially running the same offense 48 minutes can do wonders for the team. It also helps that Pop has seemingly settled on a rotation, even if Bertans should be in for Bryn.
It’s also much better to play through Gay than Pau ...

Yes they do. They play the Clips/Lakers b2b in a couple weeks.

    Agreed.

And seems I misspoke, we have 1 b2b left, so the old heads may get a rest night, tho there's no travel involved being in LA both nights.

With all the chatter about Kawhi and LA, wouldn't it be something if that's when he decides to return

Kawhi would be welcome back to return at any point. Based on teammates and Pops last statements they will take him at any time, but the point is clear that they really don’t expect him back at this point and at least mentally I am following Manu’s advice and just assume he won’t be back this year.

Patty guarded Rubio and did okay. Murray guarded Ingles and struggled, though it's not clear anyone else on the team would have done better.

Is Kawhi still on the team, tbcfh?

I mean that's where you really notice his absence. He could have guarded D-Mitch and allowed Danny to guard Ingles or whoever was hot at the moment.

I imagine Kawhi would have been checking Ingles, Danny Mitc and Murray Rubio. However, with the way the league lets players screen nowadays, I think it would been hard for anyone to do much to keep Joe from getting looks

Mitc would have made Kawhi's quad explode. Too fast. Like a rookie Westbrook with a better J

If history held, for quarters 1-3, yep.

But Kawhi would routinely take the hot PG or SG or a SF in the 4th. It's what he did to help put pressure on the opposing team by locking him down during crunch time. It's why we won most of the close games...until this year.

Yeah, I think we would have seen a lot of Kawhi on Mitc down the stretch during that game.

Danny getting so many fouls changed the complexion of that game. Mitc didn't even have a great outing, but the gap from when Green was in the game and after he got that fourth foul was huge. Paul should have been in the game over Forbes.
