If the Spurs want to trade Kawhi it will have nothing to do with anything, but what's best for them. No one is going to tell them where.
I still think it's insane to lose that kind of money, but we can't afford to be paying him 19 million to not play. So please keep in mind he's under contract and can't go to the Lakers because he wants to or Magic wants him to.
Now of course if he's not getting offered the supertax or doesn't want it he will be traded for who the Spurs want and it's not likely someone on the Lakers. If Kawhi has two years of his prime down the drain it won't be a good thing.

It's not just a fine anymore. If in fact this was a recent comment and the Lakers try to pursue Kawhi, then this is straight up tampering.
I am under the understanding that further violations to the tampering rule can and will result in fines, draft forfeiture, and or both.
