Kawhi is set to get a Quarter Billion Dollars. And he got hurt trying to play for the Spurs when he wasn't ready once already. He gave it a go. Twice is your fault.
I’m not really trying to defend him but perhaps it’s a little different for this situation. See people keep saying that he needs to only be a 100% to play and I believe that’s false. I think he just wants to be 100% healthy from THIS particular injury because it’s career altering and he wants this one to be completely healed and never have to bother him again. Because I think he would play through nicks and other sore kinds of injuries. We saw him come back for game 1 of WCF from the ankle and I’m sure it didn’t feel absolutely 100%. And he probably didn’t even feel 100% when he got cleared his year but he came and tried to play. I just think after hearing the details from this quad injury he know it needs to be 100% to not destroy his career. If this is the case then it’s very understandable.
And as for him being quiet. I personally wouldn’t want to tell anyone that my injury is chronic and career altering. That would with my career value and money if teams knew the truth.

I can understand the injury part but I can’t get over him not supporting his team mates and just staying in New York. Why the would you think I would award this type of behavior with a big contract? To me he is over being a Spur he is either going to be traded or his injuries are so serious he has to retire.
I'm a big believer in supporting your teammates, whether you are on the bench or hurt. People sneered at Patty Mills waiving a towel. I thought it was great. David Lee always seemed to have a way of supporting this team, whether on the court with a big smile and congrats or on the bench. These are the little things that go to make up a team instead of a group of individual players looking for their own stats.
Team leaders are TEAM leaders, whether injured or not.
