Its not the popular choice and the odds are stacked against them but I really like Houston's chances here. CP3 just needs to continue to be that offensive safety net and figure out a way to limit Curry's production - a task he's done with success this year. Houston was built systematically from top to bottom to beat GS and If the role players can sink what the Warriors defense can give them, then I see an upset.

One concern- Harden's been playing way below his level in the first 2 rounds. 40% shooting isn't going to cut it. Optimistically, there's no way he'll continue playing at that pace. He's due for an excellent series- at least, that's what you should hope for if you want the Rockets to continue their success. Cherry on top if Eric Gordon decides to join him.

It's going to be a tough series, but I have my money on Houston. They have great defenders (Mbha Moute, Ariza, Tucker) and can match GS' offensive prowess. This isn't your MDA Suns folks, they can play on both ends of the floor.
Translation: There's more to win by betting the longshot than taking the obvious

Harden hasn't even been fantastic so far in these playoffs (against inferior compe ion). Definitely not enough to make this a series.

I think the dichotomy of Harden and Chris Paul in tight situations will cause problems for Houston. They both need the ball. If Paul came off the bench to run the point while James was sitting, that would be tough to stop.

No - inferior compe ion than his upcoming challenge against GSW. If he's shooting 40%/34% 3PT through the first two rounds, he needs to level up twice over to even have a shot against the Warriors.

So many utterly hateable players on both teams; before them, Lebron was the villain.

This is the Rockets only chance for the next 3-4 years unless they make some swift trades to stay relevant. CP3 has nowhere to go but down, Clint Capela may be gone because someone is stupid enough to give him a max deal and teams may adjust to the Rockets style. The Warriors seem like they'll stay really good going forward for at least the next 3-5 years. And at least 5 teams out west have nowhere to go but up, especially the Pelicans, Wolves, Lakers and Jazz.

Most likely outcomes, according to sharpest sportsbook in the world Pinnacle:

    Warriors in 6
    Rockets in 7
    Warriors in 7
    Warriors in 5
In other words the only scenario the Rox can win in is in 7 games and the Warriors can will win in all scenarios but won't sweep.

It looks pretty bleak for the whole entire league. The Warriors are going to win until at least 2021 in my eyes unless Lebron forms another super team somewhere else.

going with rockets... kinda a homer pick since i'm a big cp3 fan.

warriors won't have an answer for capela... but it ultimately comes down to how much of a got harden plays like. he plays lackadaisical pretty often. if he plays locked in the whole series then i got the rockets in 6.

Rockets with better depth and a pace that eliminates one of the Warriors' greatest strengths. In a star / player comparison, Harden and KD cancel out. Curry and Paul do for the most part as well. Eric Gordon can match Klay's production. Nick Young can get hot, but so can Gerald Green. Warriors roll out the Hampton 5 and Rockets can still play them well with their starting 5 or even Ryan Anderson at C. Also that takes away rim protection, so Paul, Harden, and Gordon can all take advantage of that.

I'm rooting for Houston out of self-interest. I don't think the Rockets have a dynastic potential with this team, so I don't mind you getting one, which would also eliminate the chance of Lebron signing there ..
