I don't love or hate him, but I agree with your point that Spurs fans have no reason to fear or revere him. We swept him in 07, destroyed him by the largest margin in Finals history in his prime, and it took a bizarre series of events for him to win his only Finals against us.
Maybe the lack of perceived threat is precisely what makes him Spur-friendly. We hated Kobe because his team happened to stand in our way multiple times. Greater threat -> more hate -> less respect.
Still the best SF of all time.

Because he's arguably the GOAT and plays the right way. He's never been one to shoot over 2 or 3 defenders because of some re ed idea that superstars need to take the last shot no matter what. And despite that, not only is he way more efficient but he's also made more clutch shots in his career than a guy like Kirby who was obsessed with being the hero and was falsely perceived as some kind of killer in clutch situations.
Hes basically a more talented Manu in how he plays the game, tbh.

spurfan shouldn't flatter themselves too much about those wins against LeBron. he had by far his weakest team in 2007 at 22 years old and 2014 was pretty weak with TOSB Wade as his #2. LeGOAT still only one to lead team to victory over Spur in finals. other years when he would have wiped the floor with Spur, Spur was too weak to even make it to finals, like 2011, 2012, 2015-2018. if Lebron played in the West he would have lots more playoff victories over Spur
