I've never heard of these things until today when an article popped up. When I saw the picture within the article, I thought it was some kind of joke.
These things are about 1mm.

Pretty amazing.
I'm still wondering how I've never heard of these things and that maybe it's some kind of Mandela effect where my previous reality, these things weren't present.
Cosmos covered them quite a bit
Basically, the male (at the bottom of the diagram and on the right-hand side of the GIF) curls up around the female’s head and holds himself there with his front legs. The female then stimulates the male “by moving her stylets [mouth-like openings] and contracting the sucking pharynx [the throat],” according to the study authors.
The scientists note the whole process takes about an hour, during which “semen [is] ejaculated several times.” Now we can add marathon copulation to the list of this animal’s impressive abilities.
Damn OP, I thought this was going to be a movie thread going by the le tbh.
I need to watch some movies and shows but every time I scroll through Netflix/Amazon, nothing really looks good. Think I actually have some kind of burnout.
Sometimes I'll spend 15 minutes before finding settling on something just to quit about 10 minutes in. End up putting it on TruTV and stare at an Impractical Jokers show that
I've already seen.
Emphasis on animals.
Remarkably, a handful of them survived boththe radiation and the vacuum, making them the first animals on record to survive complete space exposure.
Bacteria just as tough which is why we try to sterilize space probes due to land on moons or other planets.
First time I learned about ....The Crabs....I thought it was all BS.
Avante....you're kidding?
Dude....nope. they look just like a crab just tiny.
Avante....nay~~~
This is by far the most interesting thing I've stumbled across recently and still can't believe that I've never heard of it.
And not 100% convinced that it's not some major internet hoax that was designed to with me.
Pretty cool article

So what's foreign DNA and why does it matter that igrades have so much of it? The term refers to genes that have come from another organism via a process known as horizontal gene transfer, as opposed to being passed down through traditional reproduction.
Horizontal gene transfer occurs in humans and other animals occasionally, usually as a result of gene swapping with viruses, but to put it into perspective, most animals have less than 1 percent of their genome made up of foreign DNA. Before this, the rotifer – another microscopic water creature – was believed to have the most foreign genes of any animal, with 8 or 9 percent.
But the new research has shown that approximately 6,000 of the igrade’s genes come from foreign species, which equates to around 17.5 percent.
