I posted about this in another thread and you completely ignored the feat. Started rambling on about dem blues...

Beamon at al ude? How does al ude give one an advantage in the long jump? And since you might be able to answer this try the next question mr. track wannabe.

Then, why must any runner accelerate on a turn?

Everyone beat you you to this 19 yo.
    You are lost.
Dude, see this thread here? THIS...is what it's all about, ok? Athletes and performances, something you know..0...about. Nobody cares about all that boring ass you talk about....ok? Talk about what is going on in the sport....got it?

Went to my first track meet at around 8/9 (late 50's) it was in Bakersfield. I saw the great Jamaican sprinter Dennis Johnson*** who ran on the local JC, obviously I didn't know who he was back then. Actually his legend came later.

In 1966 I discovered...Track & Field News Magazine over at a friends house, his father was our track coach. Been getting my monthy issue ever since, do the math. So it broke my heart when they dumped the mag to go strickly online.

There is nobody anywhere who knows more about the past, present and future of the athletes involved in the sport, IF...taliking the sprints, hurdles, long jump. I am THE guru there and can prove it.

*** one of the first great sprinters for San Jose State ( a school known for speed) he would run the WR 9.3 ...4 times in a couple months.

    World Records
    ( - Record was ratified)
    9.3* San Jose Mar 11, 1961
    9.3* Stanford Apr 01, 1961
    9.3* San Jose Apr 15, 1961
    9.3* Sunnyvale May 05, 1961

San Jose was known as "Speed City", this is the reason....

    Dennis Johnson WR 9.3
    Ray Norton WR 9.3/20.6
    John Carlos WR9.1
    Lee Evans WR400/Olympic gold
    Tommie Smith WR400/WR200 Olympic gold
    Ronnie Ray Smith WR9.9m

    The team of...

    Sam Davis...Kirk Clayton...Ronnie Ray Smith...John Carlos NCAA 4x1 Champs

    Bill Gaines WR5.9 60 SCVYV

A gang of..Ken Thomas****, Vince Breddell, Wayne Herman, Ron Whitaker, Bobby Poynter.

**** This is what seperates Avante from everybody else.

Ken Thomas was avout as wide as he was tall (kidding) a safety on that SJS football team. He was also a 10.0m sprinter and the younger bro of Rams RB Jewerl Thomas, they were out of nearby Hanford. Ken ended up with the Chiefs, they wanted to make a RB out of him which made sense with his size/speed combo. Well he banged up a knee and there went his football career.

Ike Thomas the youngest bro was a red haired black cat who couldn't stay off the drugs, the belief was he was the best athlete in the family.

    Ken Thomas at Cali State

    1 Michael Sanford Pasadena S 09.85 100Y 1978 w-.3&&&&&&
    2 Ken Thomas Hanford C 09.93 100Y 1978 w-.3

Love these track threads, love to show off.

Everybody knows about Al Davis's thing for speed, and he got it right, nothing beats team speed.

    Only Avante can do this.

The first speedy Raider was Irving "Bo" Roberson a 1960 Olympic long jump silver medalist out of Cornell, he also was a 9.5 (have read 9.4) sprinter, he played WR.

Warren Wells out of Texas Southern was a great long ball receiver, he was why Lamonica was called "The Mad Bomber". Wells was suppose to be a 9,4 cat, and wile I've never seen that in print, yep, he had that kind of speed. Was busted for drug sales....what a shame.

Colorados Cliff Branch missed making our 72 Olynpic team by................................................ ..................that much, he was a World class sprinter, running a sizzlin' 9.2 numerous times.

    Now add....

    Rocket Ismail ND
Alexander Wright a, NFL Fastest Player, Auburn
Justin Fargas USC...Cali State 100m champ
Napolean Kaufman Wash....Cali State 100m champ
    Wilie Gault Tennessee...10.10 Olympian
    Sam Graddy Tennessee...10.09 Olympian
    Ron Brown ASU....10.06 Olympian
    James Jett WV...Oly 4x1
    Alvis Whitted NCSt...10.07
    James Trapp Clemson...10.14
    Jacoby Ford Clemson...10.01
Bo Jackson Auburn...10.33 (toyed with track)
    Tim Dwight Iowa...10.33 BIG10 Champ
    Michael Bennett Wisconsin/10.18

Long jumpers...James Lofton 27 feet, Dokie Willims 25-10ish

    400m cats...Terry McDaneil, Rod Barksdale

Hurdler...Rod Woodson (Gault also a hurdler)

There are countries that can't compare to that.

Nothing funnier than watching people totally freaking out simply because a guy knows track. Hahahahaha~~~~~~~~
    Watch this...

SFS talk to me about what happened once black sprinters were allowed to compete for southern (other than HBCU) schools? Who were the first to make an impact?

All of us true track gurus are well aware of how all that went, now watch your boy do.......nothing/zero/0. Why....yep, he don't know .

So you go on about the NCAAs when we got a 19 yo phenom brought to us by no other than SF6.
You have no clue what he just did and not at al ude but slightly wind aided. None. You don’t get it.

No wonder you miss all the middle school and HS phenoms. You are out of the loop since you can’t mimic Track and Field message board cause they threw your ass off.

You really can't figure this out, really? Now think stupid, since I did post at Track & Field News don't you think I also was a subscriber? And, ya can still read what's going on banned or not. And what got me banned was belittling female track with.....HS boys would destroy World Class females. That was a no no.

So I post there but don't know track, hahahaha~~~~~~~~ So why am I there?????

Dude, talk about the athletes, the performances, that is what fans care about, NOBODY gives a damn about all that stupid you bring up, ok?

SFS talks about middle school kids running a 19.5-20.5 that right there tells us he don't know about track. You know that is impossible....right?

Now I need you to start talking about the athletes, got it?

I constantly talk HS track, always bringing up the up and comers. Just not here.

    Little people, pay attention.

NOBODY....make that...NOOOOOOOO-Body who knows track woud ever say this....

As a middle scool kid I ran a 19.5=20.5. That is totally/100% humanly impossible. It is right there with a middle school kid playing in the NFL, yep...IMPOSSIBLE.

So for SFS to stick to that silliness tells all of us he don't know a damn thing about track.

Right now the fastest 200m in the world is a 19.6 by Noah Lyles. Lyles is the guy who broke the long standing HS 200m record with his 20.09. Texan Roy Martin had held the record 20.13 since the 80's.

Bullet Bob Hayes never ran faster than a 20.4 200m, now imagine some little kid running with Bob Hayes, hahahaha~~~~~~~~

These are the fastest 200m ever ran in history, and SFS ran a 19.5-20.5, hahahaha~~~~~~~~

    All-time men's best 200m

    Anyone saying....yep, SFS did run that......is a 100% moron/idiot, trust me.....that is impossible.

What's so funny about this thread is it's real obvious nobody here had a clue about Bob Beamons incredible jump some 50 years ago.

    And.....a box....hahahaha~~~~ Try...pit....long jump...pit.

Ok, this is considered by guys like myself (Guru's) to be the greatest long jump compe ion in history.

If ya really do care about the event at all, this is a must see.

    The longest jump in history.

When Gale Sayers was in HS he led the nation (HS level) with a 24-11 jump. His older bro Roger one of the few to beat Bob Hayes n a 100.

HOF WR Lynn Swann a two time Cali HS long jump champ, 24 something.

A very rare sight, Jesse Owens losing a long jump compe ion. This was at the 1935 USA Nationals.

1 Eulace Pea USA 8.00* MR
    2 Jesse Owens USA 7.98*
    3 John Brooks USA 7.76
    4 Albert Olson USA 7.55

Eulace Pea beat Owens many times in the 100, injuries did him in in 1936 (Berlin Olympics), what might have been.

As far as young up and comers go....

The first really fast cat I ever came in contact with was Sam Davis from Edison HS Fresno. This was in 64. Davis was running 9.6 which was far faster than everybody else around here except Roger Jones from one of those Bakersfield schools, he was at 9.7 but I only saw him once, and that was a loss to Davis at the Valley Champs.

Sam Davis would win the state JC 100 while at Fresno City, took 4/5??? at the NCAA's at SJS and ran leadoff on that great Spartan gold medal 4x1 NCAA's champs team with John Carlos on anchor.

    My bad, make it third.

When I first got into this stuff, we'd see a lot of the HBCU athletes in the mix. Talented black athletes wanting to stay close to home so to stay in the south there they were at Texas Southern, Southern U, Grambling, Florida A&M, Jackson State etc etc. So who can tell me the first Nationally acclaimed HBCUer in the sprints? Come on ya can do this, let's see it.

Who was the first HBCUer to have a 1000 yards rushing in the NFL? How about the AFL?

Come on ya can do this little people.
