Sounds good in theory, but what’s preventing Kawhi from feigning injury again and sitting out another year? I don’t know that forcing a guy on the court will produce championship results.

I think it will be very revealing and harmful to Kawhi's character and career if he willfully f*cks the Spurs and Pop in front of the world. It will haunt him forever. It will certainly hurt his pocketbook, he loses tens of millions, but the lasting damage might be worse. I think that's what stops him from 'feigning' some more bull for another year.
