not surprised if he decides to do so. it's going to be choppy waters for tier 2/3 FAs this summer.

DG's contract has trade bait or trade throw-in written all over it (if he does opt-in).

Fine with it. Spurs just need a perimeter player that can create his own shot and the offense could be much more diverse.

Provided the Spurs aren't blowing it up....

Not the worst contract for $10M, especially if he can find his range again. I don't expect him to ever be 2012-2014 Danny again, but if he can get his percentage back up in that .400 range, his defense makes him a net positive.

welcome back Danny if so. Since Kawhi and his shenanigans, glad to bring back anyone who is actually willing to play. It's a low bar and the franchise may have hit rock bottom.

cant really blame him. he wont have 10 mil value elsewhere imo

danny will always be appreciated, so his eventual departure will be bittersweet. wouldn't have minded it happen this year though.

or maybe hie fixes his jumper and becomes v3rd3 again

Hurts when you don’t have the passing of yesteryear to get him open looks. No Kawhi and less Parker this past year. He needs creators and ball handlers out there, or else defenses will force him to put ball on the floor.

He’s obviously a limited player but does some things very well. I’m fine with the $10mm ... worst case he can be moved without having to give up anything to dump him should they need cap space.

When Deadman opted in with Atlanta, I took it for granted Danny would opt in. Top FAs may feed but others will have to fight over scraps.

hopefully contract year lets him rehab his value.

then he signs elsewhere and his shot breaks again

It's a good decision for him. He will never make more than 10 mil per year on his next contract and he knows that.
