I was away from Spurs Talk all of last season. What was your assessment of him? In the games I saw him play in the RS, it was against Golden State and what I took away from those games were he has quite the defensive potential, and on O, he has the ability to control tempo especially in the half court offense. Then, in the playoffs, I saw him again coincidentally against GSW. And it just solidified what I seen in the RS. Care to give your thoughts?

Who? Lonnie will all over whoever that is by October. He will be a throw in in a trade or released by November if not a training camp casualty

Good court vision, good size. Could be a good player, not ready yet.

Looked like our best offensive guard at times, tbh.

probably the third best guard on the roster last year

Bryn getting minutes over him was typical Pop nonsense

Too bad Patty will still suck up minutes from the young guys.

At least Pop will probably give him a shot since he had a year to get over himself..

Just hope Walker actually gets to play and Forbes gets benched, so the guard rotation of Murray/Walker/White/Mills eats all the minutes..

He could have easily been our starting PG by mid season.

He's going to surprise everyone next year.

He was a top 3 guard (maybe the best) on the team last year, but didn't get a real consistent opportunity. Every-time he got an opportunity he performed. He can do everything on offense and he can defend.

Him, DeJounte, and Lonnie were outstanding picks the last 3 years. Great young perimeter core to grow with.

Love the Metu pick as well.

3 guards who can switch and are athletic. Sound interchangeable in some respects. But I think its Murray at PG/Walker at SG/White as a backup PG/SG depending on who he plays with, althought any of them should eventually be able to play off of the ball or initiate the offense.

I like Walker finish and explosivenesd, but might need better tempo. White is more finesse and control imo. Both have upsides. I like Patty, but I wish him luck elsewhere. I like our new guys athleticism

I really like White, and I think he'll look like a star in the Summer League, setting up Walker and Metu with good passes and scoring at will. He should come in as a better player than Walker for sure and at least offensively, I expect him to still be ahead of Murray. For some reason, people seem to think White is Kyle 2.0 physically. But White has plenty of athleticism for the NBA.

Walker has good moves, but looks pretty dumb at this point. White should get a good chance to prove himself this season.

Forbes needs to be playing in China or Europe. He's not an NBA player.

For now. They might extend him a qualifying offer because he's a restricted free agent.

I don't see the point. Hanlan can do the same thing for cheaper, maybe even two-way cheaper. I can see keeping Paul for a while. Bryn had his chance and needs a new start on a team without so many young (and old) guards.

Dejonte has more raw talent than DW, but I think DW is in more control, has a high IQ running the point, and basically has a better shot IMHO.

White will shock people here when he gets a chance. And his chance will begin in the SUmmer league. He will take over the starting two guard from Patty Mills/Danny Green. He provides more upside and offense/defense, not just one or the other.
