I really want to see the Spurs help him develop a strong back to the basket post game like they did the autist. He doesn't have the autist's freakish body but he does have the length and athleticism to have a fadeaway that's just as unstoppable. Put him in the same spots and run the same plays that they did for autist in the post.
The good thing about derozan is that he's improved every year in the league, so he clearly as the work ethic and isn't complacent. Last year he vastly improved as a playmaker. If he improves to a middling 3 point shooter and an average defender, he may actually be worth his contract

The price tag for getting rid of kawhi stings, but the more I look at what Toronto sends the Spurs the more interesting this upcoming season gets. You can hide some of the defensive liabilities of derozen with how the spurs utilize team defense positioning.
Spurs got younger in areas people constantly gripe about. Yet they still complain. Reminds me of this old bas at work that is never happy with the situation at work, everything can be running smoothly, no extra work, nice an relaxing, going to leave work early...YET finds something about because they don't know how to do anything else but .

Right so in order for this trade to work out, you have to bank on the Spurs' ability to teach and Derozan's willingness to work. Is Pop/Chip so much of a better teacher than Dwayne Casey/Nick Nurse that he can get Derozan to significantly improve when he's pushing 30? It's not a completely unreasonable bet to make although ideally Derozan is a little bit younger so he can improve more.
