Well it's not every season that a transcendent homegrown superstar on the rise to becoming the best player in the world in the most respected franchise in sports collapses under the weight of injury, mental illness, and opportunistic family members taking advantage of that.
I mean it’s a story. But outside the San Antonio fanbase, I don’t think it’s been as big a story as you suggest to everyone else.
It certainly hasn’t taken ALL the attention this off season.
While any development would be newsworthy, the fact that he doesn’t say a word to anyone, media, social media, through his PR people outside his uncle, teammates, it’s been pretty much a non-news story until something actually happens.
If LeBron actually did care about attention at this point, this should not bother him.

LeBron wasn't going for attention, tbh. He made his decision quickly and released it through a short press release, as opposed to a TV show or a letter.
