What gives life meaning? How do we differentiate between good n bad (morality)? What happens when we die (destiny)? I'll throw in one extra, what legacy are u leaving behind (or with a progeny)?
I don’t need to answer any of these questions to know that it’s fundamentally wrong to use your religious beliefs to control the free will of others.
But I’ll address your point.
1. Doesn’t matter. I have no issue with those that don’t want to rule out a higher power but it’s definitely not a higher power in a religious sense. As depicted by western religion or really any other. That is a man made control device.
2. I don’t require meaning. Perhaps you do but that’s your shortcoming. I’m perfectly fine with our existence being the same as an ant. You’re here until you’re not.
3. I’m generally in agreement with collectively agreed upon law. Although flawed. What I don’t like is religious people using the wealth ac ulated via organized religion to manipulate elected representatives in order to implement rules and laws that are contrary to what society supports.
4. Who cares. I’m dead. Nothing happens as far as we know. Until science breaks that barrier and provides new information I’m perfectly fine with the answer being nothing. There is no proof of afterlife and the only reason the concept exists is to control people with the threat of never ending pain and suffering. It’s bull and quite frankly should be illegal to teach. Heaven and is the sickest form of indoctrination.
It has completely controlled your actions. You’re a victim of grooming and you don’t even know it. That is a huge societal problem.
5. My family generally subscribes to doing good because there is face value and meaning in helping others. Not because we fear fire and damnation.
