I don't mean lawmakers successfully did something, but plenty complained publicly and they tried to replace her on the Judiciary committee. And the punditry were super pissed. She was absent for months which put a stop to confirmation of all judges.

Newsom definitely had an appointment in mind but I don’t get the criticism that he didn’t wait long enough to appoint her. California voters shouldn’t be deprived of senate representation for an extended period of time simply because Feinstein was a selfish who now needs to be honored in her death.

I'm keeping up fine. That promise isn't evidence she's unqualified. You can choose someone from a specific demographic from a pool of qualified individuals. That's how affirmative action worked too, despite protests of supposedly unqualified minorities taking jobs that a small number of only white people could have possibly done.
