The limited scale of the attack and Iran's muted response appeared to signal a successful effort by diplomats who have been working to avert all-out war since an Iranian drone and missile attack on Israel last Saturday.

Both political regimes are in trouble. Iran absolutely would not have retalliated with as many missiles as they did if there was not a clear loud PUBLIC outcry. So they shot fireworks for Israel to knock out of the sky. The Israel response was small, and direct. And they did not slaughter two high ranking generals which sparked this whole thing. Israel and Benji were absolutely fine with the lobbing of easy to hit targets the vast majority of which never reached Israel. Israel is fine saying minor damage, we wiped that attack out, Iran is fine with a display of a wide array of missiles they actually did shoot and are happy they did not piss Israel off.

Political preservation and no new wars. It cost Iran a couple of generals in Syria.
Combatants, Go to your corners and leave. Combatants are relieved.
Simples. Except for a few who want Armageddon.

    Broke ass Iranians

‘Iran is broke’: How clerics crippled the Islamic Republic

Inflation in Iran makes Britain’s cost of living crisis look like a picnic.

Price growth has been in double digits for nearly six years and averaged 35.8pc in February.

In the last two years, under President Ebrahim Raisi, the cost of lamb has gone up by 269pc. The price of chicken, onions and sugar cubes have gone up by 200pc, 185pc and 147pc respectively. The cost of a basic car has gone up by 144pc.

“It has been horrific,” says Ali Ansari, founding director of the University of St Andrews’ Ins ute for Iranian Studies.

    Iran cannot afford a war

Although Iran is a key aggressor in the conflict in the Middle East, it is taking pains to avoid a full-scale war because it cannot afford one.

“While things have improved, they do not have the financial resources to go into a war, and the ramifications if they did could cripple the economy further,” says James Swanston, a Middle East specialist at Capital Economics.

“I think the economic weakness at home is constraining them. They’re not keen on escalation, they don’t want a war. They know they couldn’t really win a war and they know a war would be devastating to the economy in a way that they can’t even imagine,” Ansari says.

All 57 people arrested at UT Austin had the charges dismissed for lack of probable cause, 46 by a criminal law judge and 11 by the DA.

Pure viewpoint discrimination on a college campus.

A&M and Rice had encampments with zero police action, the robust state and local police action at UT Austin seems to have had a political angle.

Shameful for a university to call the cops with no evident threat to public and surely no trespassing -- zero arrests were substantiated by charges.

    Found this a bit stupid.
Protesters lying on the ground chanting.
Pictures and chanting reported by Wa Po, NY Times and then used by many other “Western” Outlets.

It proved hard to put all that aside for the night. Especially Gaza.Pro-Palestinian protesters surrounded the entrance outside of the hotel, shouting chants such as “Western media you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide!” and confronting guests arriving to the dinner in their tuxedos and gowns. Some attendees werefollowed by tight circles of protesters yelling “Shame!” inches from their faces until they could get behind police.

So they protested because they knew Pravda might report it or what? It still is absolutely ridiculous people can’t find outlets who are dedicated to ACCURATE journalism and will in fact CALL EACH OTHER OUT if it’s not accurate. Like this happens in Syrian and Saudi Arabian press outlets? In Russia and China? Afraid not.

World leaders corrupt, despots and others ACTIVELY USE WESTERN MEDIA in their intelligence assessments. Why?
Because of the likelihood of ACCURACY. People who really want to get a more accurate picture of the world know what to read.
Too many “people” rely on what they hear from friends and their cultish groupthink. Hater, Tat- , tired tread.

Some countries (including the US on occasions) use good accurate reporting to double check their own intelligence services because many tell leaders what they want to hear and these leaders are smart enough to know this. You would be in big trouble if you failed to grant Putin access to Wa Po, NY Times, WJ, The Economist, etc…

So you fkn MAGA re s that think you can teletransport your pencil head to every event worldwide and get accuracy… Go sharpen your head. It won’t help, but I will feel better.
