Every few months I think maybe I should pick a Quest 2 up when I see them go on sale cheap, then I eventually decide not to because I'm worried I'd just put it in a drawer after playing Half Life Alyx. VR is probably a poor fit for me since my favorite games are JRPG and third person action and last time I tried VR at the movie theater I felt like I had drank about 20 beers after four two minute rides of the Rabbids VR roller coaster.
Since you like COD though might be a better fit for you since FPS are just begging for VR. You can play RE2/3/7/8 in first person with VR mods, same with Doom 3 and OG Doom, Quake 3, and every Half Life episode released. Then RE4 has a Quest 2 native port. Since you already have a Quest 2 might be worth trying it out. Plus you can just pirate all the Quest 2 games as long as you haven't downloaded a demo of it if you don't want to sink money into something you're unsure of. Google 'reddit quest piracy' and it'll show you where.
