They didn't block 71 either
Surprised they haven't blocked the use of 88 as well.
Anyway, I have Germany making a comeback and winning it all.
On paper, it should be a comfortable 1st place finish in the group stage. They're peaking at the right time. Good mix of veteran leadership and young talent. Well coached. Every game is basically a home game.
Looking at the field, everyone looks beatable imo.
I'd be more surprised by German no show than your dream scenario.
Nagelsmann is supposedly making tough cuts for team unity. But arguably the golden standard of GK in recent history is still rolling out Neuer? Germans don't historically give their Greats this long a walk off. The great Kahn accepted a backseat at the Germans World Cup.
It's an odd pieced together squad that likely will prosper til the later Rounds. Bottomline - Germans just don't have the elite talent right now. Will the home crowd still be as united and help carry them? I'll be there. In 2006 it was a wave of DEU flags. I hope I see similiar.
