baseline bum got the wheels turning.
Only ring-chasing vets sign for that kind of money. Spurs have no shot of getting someone better than Champagnie at $3 million a year and they have a team option at that price for the next two seasons.
Now and summer of 2024. Eeesh not currently looking like anyone would.
But, plenty of things could happen to make a vet want to get that Ring.

Fluid, with lots to happen (or not) in the next 3 years.

Do you see any prospects sooner?

Lebron James along with drafting Bronny with a 2RP. yes.
    Siakim. Yes

    Nos
    Paul George.
    James Harden

    I wish
Jamal Murray (would take some awful collapse and falling out in Denver.) Pipe dream.

Lowry. Eh i think he's slowing down.
Demar Defrozen. No. He is a good player but no, not compatable with Wemby.

Yeah, we’re five years away from ring chasers, minimum.

Now don't be a negative Nancy.

A good shooter and a real coach has us over .500 easily.

Ring chasers go where rings have been won already. My statement stands.

I'd hate to see Lebron in my team tbh

Also, Jamal Murray is a vet now? at 27?

As Baseline pointed it out Vets chase rings when FA, it's too early for the Spurs.

I'd trade for Brogdon, vet, high IQ, good shooter and passer. Just what we need

Ah, could you give some examples.
The Spurs have won 1 le in the last 16 years.

Plus Lebron might want to stack on another one. Siakim too.

It depends on PATFO really… (luck at the draft and seized or not opportunities on the trade market)

I could see the Spurs be strong PO contenders in 3 years with 2-3 very good players surrounding Wemby. Especially is he keeps getting better the same rythm.

Next season will be his 8th so, yes.

Lot of NBA players started at 19-20.

They love him in Denver and won’t let him go imo. Why would he leave when he’s settled over here?

I listed him under Pipe Dream.

Would take some extreme change of events in Denver to land him.

Lebron and Siakim are both total free agents this summer.
What could the Spurs FO do to get both of them?
Is Lebron still on board for joining whatever team drafts Bronny? If so i would draft him for sure. What a score to get Lebron Sr. for vet min.

Wemby, Lebron and Siakim is 50 wins right there if you can keep Grandpas idiocy out of the way.

Murray would be THE dream player to pair with a Wemby but it’s so unrealistic I don’t even dream about it haha

Regarding Lebron of course he’d be an amazing help but I just can’t with him. I’ve tried for years but his diva, storyteller personality no thx …

I think we can expect Greg Pop to use his GOAT skills to coax 4 more wins this season. Skyrocketing the total to 18.

The following are all completely unrestricted free FAs starting at the end of this 23-24 season:
    Many with no player option.

    Player / player option price
    Lebron 51
    Siakim 0
    Paul George 48
    Jrue Holiday 39
    Klanus Thompson 0
    Tobias Harris 0
    Beardo Harden 0
    Gordan Hayword 0
    Lowry 0
    Demar DeFrozen 0
    Spencer Dinwiddle 0
    OG Anunoby 0

    Others with 0

So if the Spurs could get 2-3 of the right players, sure a big ask but hey we're right back in bidness.

Those vets have to see Wemby win multipl MVPs, DPOY before they chase the bandwagon

We need to make the play-in before we talk about the playoffs, the playoffs before we talk about the conference, the conference before we talk about the Finals, and the Finals before we talk about ring chasers

    Pipedream:
Luka (flatliner is just waiting to implode)
Giannis (if Bucks gets eliminated in the PO early, expect Giannis to demand a trade.

    Maybe:
Trae (he already said he wants to pass the baby

Derozan (the bulls are going nowhere.

That was kind of my poin, too.. Ring chasers don’t latch on until you ring.

47 wins Miami Heat 2009-10 year before Lebron and Bosh.

    Ousted 4-1 in 1st Round.

Plus new precidents are being set all the time in the NBA.

My grade 1 math tells me 47>14. My grade 3 math tells me 47> 14x 3.

My spurs fan math tells me we don’t have cap room for three superstars joining the spurs.

My spurs fan cynic tells me we don’t have a history or the draw to sign ANY superstar, ever.

You don't think GOAT Gregg Pop is good for 47 wins next year?

Lebron at vet minimum is the key. Dk if he is still down with joining Jr. after his heart problem.

Hey we got Robert Horry to come here. Bob is HOF in my book.

Ya sadly i think Popped will continue his WOAT coaching and GMing. Probably bring in Brent Forms and Patty Mills.

    But we can hope.

    Realistic gets:

pg: TJ McConnell - Indiana set up to trade him nicely in the last year of his contract at this nba draft. Have you seen him recently? Looks amazing. Would probably be better than Reed Sheppard his first 2-3 years. Perfect fit next to Wemby and should be extremely cheap.

sf: Klay or Wiggins - The warriors are in play in and not likely to make it out of it. If they don’t expect one or both of these players to be gone. Either would be an asset, but Klays shooting would be a revelation next to Wemby. Trade out KJ and Zollins for this player.

After that, just draft shooters, three point shooters. Dilly, Sheppard, Cody, Rischy, knecht, etc
