Anybody seen that compound over by Eldorado? I think one of those polygamist came to my work one time to make copies and invited the manager to join them.

the kids are basically raised brainwashed, girls recieve littel to no education, and they are married off to older men usually between 15 - 18 , but sometimes as young as 13 and 12.

Sincethey are thne bredding a whole lot of people (male and female) but they are not living a way of life that puts the men in constant danger or shortens thier lifespan to 30 ish - they have a huge overabundance of boys.

this way you have a handfull of older and powerfull or well connected younger guys who each have an butt load of wives (doesn't Jeffs himseldf have like 60 something wives?) and a bunch of jobless, directionless, clueless, wifeless young men just dropped off o nthe edge of neighboring towns.
20/20 or dateline or one of those had a big 2hr deal on them when they 1st started building thier el Dorado compound.

About the FLDS organization:
The FLDS was founded in 1935 by two excommunicated Mormons: John Y. Barlow and Joseph White Musser. Barlow subsequently became the group's first leader. Roulon T Jeffs became the FLDS' second leader. He died in 2002 at the age of 92. His son, Warren Jeffs, (1956 -) then took over the FLDS. Warren was previously the principal of Alta Academy, a FLDS religious high school which is now closed. 3
The FLDS' main membership is now centered in the twin cities of Colorado City, AZ and Hildale, UT. Wikipedia reports that: "According to FLDS accounts, Brigham Young visited the site of Hildale and Colorado City and stated that 'this is the right place [and it] will someday be the head and not the tail of the church [and]...the granaries of the Saints'." 4 A separate colony of about 1,000 FLDS members live in Bountiful, British Columbia, Canada. Almost all are descendents of six men.
Unfortunately there is little precise information about the FLDS available to outsiders. Jeffs does not give interviews to non-FLDS members. He allegedly refused to even meet with Mark Surtleff, the Attorney General of Utah. As a result, most of the information comes from critics of the FLDS or from ex-FLDS members who have left the group. These can be unreliable sources.
Jeffs has allegedly:
Forbidden members to use television sets, VCRs, video games or connections to the Internet.
Banned boating, fishing and other water activities.
Instructed parents to throw away most children's books including the Bible and Book of Mormon storybooks.
Terminated community and holiday celebrations, such as observing the birthdays of previous leaders and Pioneer Day.
Stopped further dances, socials and other get-togethers.
Warned members that laughter causes the spirit of God to leak from their bodies. He based this belief on an obscure statement by Joseph Smith.
Brooke Adams, a reporter for the Salt Lake Tribune, reported on a purge of the membership during 2004: "A trickle of expulsions turned into a stream in January when Jeffs ousted some of the community's most prominent and long-standing members, calling into question their standing here and in the afterlife. Ever the school principal, Jeffs has told men he has cast out to provide a list of their spiritual failings to see if they match up with transgressions revealed to him by the Lord. Wives and children have been separated from husbands and fathers; parents and children, brothers and sisters have ended up on different sides of this theological divide. Many are accepting these familial rearrangements in perfect obedience, believing their salvation depends on it. ' There has been so much conflict and needless turmoil and sorrow that has been put on families in the name of religion,' said a woman associated with the Canadian branch of the FLDS church. 'Kids who used to play with their next-door neighbors aren't allowed to do that and are saying nasty things to each other when they meet across the fence, like, "Your father is going to ".' " 3
Wikipedia reports that about 20 men were excommunicated in the 2004-JAN purge. Their marriages were cancelled, and their wives and children were redistributed among other FLDS men. 4
In 2004-MAY, the FLDS announced that a new base for the church will be established in Schleiser County, TX, about four miles northeast of Eldorado, TX. It remains to be seen how sympathetic the state of Texas will be to polygynous families in their midst. 3
The FLDS' legal difficulties appear to be escalating:
In Texas, a new law has been passed which raises the age of consent to marry to 16 and outlaws "stepfather" marriages.
In Utah, a judge removed Jeffs and other trustees from control of the multimillion-dollar trust fund that owns most of the land, homes and businesses used by FLDS members.
In Arizona, the state took over control of the public school district in Colorado City. The district is allegedly in debt and missing funds.
An Arizona grand jury indicted Jeffs on two felony charges relating to underage marriages within the FLDS. Matthew Smith, the Mohave County, Arizona, Attorney said: "This isn't about religious persecution. This has nothing to do with polygamy. It has to do with underage marriage. It has to do with leaving these young girls alone so they can have a little more maturity and make their own decisions."
On 2006-MAY-06, the FBI announced that it had placed Jeffs on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. According to the Associated Press, they hope that "...the additional exposure and reward money leads to an arrest in the long running investigation." 11

The town of Bountifull, British Columbia is 100% FLDS. population about 1000 decendant from 6 men. Thye are trading or importing girls from the Utah and Arizona towns for new blood.
