Some points in the interview:
Musselman said he likes the prospect of competition for roster spots between the rooks and signed players "Defense creates offense, we want to pressure a little more, gamble a little more defensively". "(in training camp)guys can play their way onto the team or off the team , into the rotation or out of the rotation" On Communication with the players: "it's our job as coaches, as the leadership of the team, you have to let guys know where they stand". Guys who impressed in SL: Quincy (he can play some PG), Jeter; two guys who stood out in prouction that they got--Amundson & Williams Bibby took his agent and Petrie to his first meeting with Musselman in a formal meeting environment, to ask what his role with the team would be. Musselman went out of his way to personally communicate with Artest and Martin Kenny met just recently for the first time with Musselman at his home, wanting to know about his role. "That's [filling Bonzi's position] an evolving process, our OG position ... with Kevin, Francisco & Salmons" |
