Attorney General John Ashcroft 'plans to submit his resignation to Bush in the next several days'...
please, please, please let this be true.
Just what did John Ashcroft ever do to you?
I for one miss some Statue of Justice ty.
So, get a replica and put it in your living room.
for once bush does something right
That's like asking, what did gay sex ever do to you.
So, the answer is obviously, "nothing."
Aschroft's departure means to me what Daschle's meant to you.
Ashcroft’s extreme views on individual rights and liberties place him at the far right of his party. Way too far for my liking. For instance, accepting an honorary degree from Bob Jones University
One departure is voluntary and the other was not. The next Attorney General will equally serve the President and reflect the values of this President. Trust me, you won't be any happier...
Giulianni next AG?
keep in mind that yonivore holds the same extreme right views and is a lapdog to the ulta-conservative neocon set. in his eyes they can do no wrong and the enemy, aka anyone who isn't with them, can do no right.
No, I just think you're wrong about both President Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft.
lapdog?
yeah lapdog. you have never once given a contrarian opinion to this administration, you've supported everything they've done 100% blindly and wholeheartedly. I don't care who you are or what you believe no one can agree with someone else all the time. i bet even nbadan could find fault with clinton.
Good thing mr iceman is here to set us rights der yoni.
Yes sirrr mr iceman, sorry we believe how we bleieve we apologize for not being a hollywood leftist french pussy like yourself sir.
This opens the door to bring in Rudy as part of Bush's cabinet, setting him up in a high profile gig (hunting down terrorists and protecting America at home) to parlay into a presidential bid in '08.
Good stuff!
tpark have you ever had an original thought?
Well as I understand it there will be two departures (mind you one is only rumored at this time) one good, one bad. We have already seen the good departure (ashcroft) and the bad is going to be Powell due to his dissatisfaction with the admins policies and treatment of his advice...
I have heard it may be more than two
If the Colin Powell rumor is true, that's very depressing.
I heard even donnie and candi may be gone as well, but those rumors havent been as prominent as the powell rumors. Those have been around and strengthening since the Iraq conflict started.
I heard it wasn't so much about as Iraq as it is that the Republicans need to start getting the new guard some exposure.
I dont really see that as a viable excuse, unless he is fatigued by his current service, as he is not very old and has a lot of political potential ahead of him. Apparently, though, he feels like he is on the outside of the rummy, cheney, wolfowitz sphere of influence on the prez. Plus regardless of if you think bush is great or not I think everyone can agree that it is difficult to be the secretary of state under this administration... (i.e. dealing with the world outside of america)
What's the big stink about? I doubt if W will make it all four years.
This is great news. I would be sad to see Colin go, but I'll certainly have a beer to celebrate the departure of Ashcroft.
