can I give someone software after I down loaded it?

I have a PC game that I down loaded on my system last year and I wanted to give the disc to a friend at work is that wrong, can I get in trouble?

if the game is sold in stores and not free than of course you can..... but everyone does it the chances of you getting in trouble are minimal

So then it's still wrong? I have the case it came in, I just feel guilty giving it away and it is still on my PC.
