That's a good philosophy to have in all situations. Whether people believe it or not, most cops are pretty helpful and just doing their job.
The wife will be charged with DWI. KENS hasn't said anything.

Exactly. I have been cool to so many people. And then you have the smart asses that I do the exact opposite with.
Well in the beginning of ashbeeigh's post she said he was charged with public intoxication -- which is different than DWI.
Whoohoo! Crime sprees for everybody!
I might have misheard it. If y'all wait a couple hours they'll show the news on Headline News (channel 52) at the 26 and 52 of the hour. It'll most likely be on there.
SAN ANTONIO -- KENS-TV sportscaster Joe Reinagel was arrested and charged Monday with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
According to a police report, Reinagel showed up at a hospital Sunday night to see his wife, Dia Joy Reinagel, who had complained of chest pains shortly after she was arrested on su ion of drunken driving.
The report said that a police officer said that Joe Reinagel had red eyes and smelled of alcohol.
The officer also stated in his report that while Joe Reinagel was visiting with his wife, the officer could hear the sportscaster using profanity to refer to him. The officer then pulled Reinagel from the room and tried to calm him down when Reinagel allegedly used more profanity -- this time to the officer's face.
Reinagel was then arrested. He then appeared before a magistrate and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court March 8.

I assume he won't be at the Spurs game tonight
If he is, you should offer him a drink.
And there it is. He apparently apologized to the officer when he was in the back seat of the patrol car.
so the cop eavesdropped on their conversation and got mad because Joe called him a bad word.
Reports are that he was very loud. So I don't think eavesdropping was neccessary
So the officer arrested him for saying a mean word about him.... wahhhhhhhh
I guess he was just made an "example" of.
I've gotten about 10 speeding tickets. I've only had about three officers be kind of a jerk to me. One was Live Oak PD, another was a Highway Patrolman, and the other was a Bexar County Sherif.
The officer should have left him alone. What is the point of pulling him out of the room? Cops are so full of themselves sometimes it's ridiculous.
Exactly.
Because he recognized him from the news and knew there'd be a story if happened.
I don't think it's all about that.
Apparently he was very loud there at the hospital. Even on MYSA.com (which is KENS) they say that he was yelling obscenities.
Apparently he was cussing about cops. If so, why would anyone think a cop would calm him down?
I'm really suprised. Joe is a really calm, good guy. But then again, I haven't spoken with him while he was drunk and at a hospital.
Well it would be their job to calm him down if he was being loud and disorderly.
I always thought Reinagel had a "too polite" edge to him but thought it was just newscaster ego. I suppose he could be fired but this isn't as bad as that one news anchor who was into kiddie porn. That dude was straaaaaange.
I'm surprised too. He's very nice and relaxed every time I see him. But I can imagine that if he was worried about his wife and had been drinking, then you never know.
Why not just shut the door to the room he and his wife were in?
