How did Bones look in his four minutes of limited court time tonight? Box score shows that he pretty much sucked ... 0-3 (all three-point attempts), 1 personal foul.

    Can he still contribute?

Couldn't really tell from the minutes he recieved. One of the his 3-point shots was with the shot clock running down, another he was open and completely missed.

He really didn't seem to get into a flow, but who can in 4 minutes after sitting out over 2 months.

I think the game against Utah will be a much better indicator of where he is at.
The good news, Brent's back on the court.

How did Bones look? He ran pretty well, didn't show signs of being gimpy, and best of all didn't go down onto the court clutching his leg.

It gives me hope that he at least played. The spurs absolutely need his three point shooting int the playoffs without Horry. And his on the ball IQ really boosts our offensive efficiency if he can get into some kind of flow before the playoffs. Big ifs, but I think a lot of our post season success actually might depend on it.

I was happy to see him push off on the leg without trouble or obvious pain. He moved really well but he was rusty on all counts but that's to be expected. It would be nice to see him get more minutes against Utah.

The only thing that matters to me is how he looked while running. Of course he looked fine up until the moment that he injured his calf the second time, so that may not mean anything. At least he's getting some chances to knock the rust off.

This is a tad premature, no?
He's been out for two months. I'd give him a little more than 4 minutes before tossing him aside.
I'm glad he was able to get back before the playoffs...hopefully he'll be feeling better on the court by then.

At least he didn't limp off the court like last time.

We won't of course know if he's in pain this morning.

Sorry, but there are zero posts tossing him aside in this thread.

He didn't look good, especially on defense. John Salmons's eyes lit up everytime he saw Barry on him. His shoot also looked way off, it will probably take him a couple of games and some practice time to get his legs under his shot again, it was all arm...

Yeah, I wouldn't have expected him to do that, either. I certainly wouldn't be glad to see it.
