Spurs are not giving the picks back. ATL isn’t trading him to us for anything less. Not Happening unless they come WAY down on their price. I’d just a soon see him go to the Lakers.

i don't mind people getting it called wrong, everyone makes a bad pick, just so long as they own it. the celtics were the best team in the nba all year but i didn't expect them to go up 3-0 tbh

What's the difference? I'd rather have Vassell than Garland and adding two defensive liabilities to the core, while expending most-all of the "good" draft capital doesn't make sense. Overhauls generally happen incrementally and here they happen glacially.

In a relatively flat draft, taking someone like Clingan who could theoretically help them the most the next 3 years makes lots of sense especially considering their window and all the draft picks owed to the Spurs.

No. There is no comparison to LeBron - Luka literally berates the referees play after play, game after game. He even berates his own bench, wtf? He literally stops playing, leaving his team 5 on 4. Jokic is more in line with Lebron's level of whining. Luka is in his own stratosphere. It doesn't...

In that case, we should offer to swap the #4 pick and a second round pick or a heavily protected future first round pick in exchange for the #1 pick. And if they say no, then just wager that they pick Clingan anyway and hope Zaccharie falls into our laps.

People are dramatically overstating the Spurs' penchant for targeting big PGs. George Hill and Cory Joseph were drafted when the NBA listed height in shoes as a default. Hill measured at 6-1.25 and Joseph at 6-2 flat. Jones didn't do the combine, but he's 6-1. Patty Mills was 5-11.25, Ray McCallum...

ATL won’t go for that but throwing in Keldon Johnson and or Zack Collins could generate more interest. Adding Sarr and Murray at the cost of the 4 and the 8 sounds way too good to be true. Yes you throw in the 27 pick but that’s a bit down the road and the 26 pick is a coin flip though we’d like...

from a spurs-centric perspective, here's probably how i do it Tier 1 - I would be happy if we selected him at #4 overall Risacher Sheppard Dillingham Tier 2 - I would be content with selecting him at #4, but would be happy getting him at #8

Can't coach size and that 10 lbs makes him smaller than almost everyone but guys like Ja Morant and Trae Young who are way more talented (and in Morant's case way more athletic too) to make up for that deficiency. If they somehow get Risacher at 4 or really want Buzelis at 4 then I'm good with...

Because he played more than enough games to evaluate him properly. He's the same player regardless of if he weighed in at 150 or 200. He's still an electric offensive weapon and tragic defensively. Improving his understanding of the game and instincts on defensive end is way more important...

Malik Monk is definitely better than George Hill. So you’re asking me if Dillingham turns out better than Carter who would I pick? Obviously Dillingham although we may need to look at Fit. George Hill would be a slightly better fit for this team since he would start over Tre Jones while Monk would...

The way I look at tiers is that you would under no circumstance draft a player from a lower tier ahead of a player from a higher tier. So with that said, the tiers is very team dependent. So, my personal tiers, with the Spurs specifically in mind: Tier 1: Buzelis Sheppard Dillingham Castle...

I'm of similar mind. I think getting a good defensive prospect is just good strategy, but not because we need a "Luka stopper" - we just need to play better defense. Likewise, we should consider good C prospects because it is sound practice to have a good backup for Wemby, but not because we are...

You kinda forget they won a title in 2020. They've been an abysmal franchise post 2010 and got bailed out by LeBron wanting to play for them. Now the LeBron era is faded out.

I hadn't thought about this specific machination of an ATL trade before, but I would think this framework would be very interesting from ATL's POV while leaving the Spurs with the 2025 upside we very likely value and want to preserve. Even though the Hawks would out of luck for 2025, they'd...

No, his crack-headed son was found guilty on all counts. Father immediately blamed Trump for arranging it so they'd pull that sweetheart deal. Trump gave his pal Dale a wink & a nod. I celebrated at Culver's, by myself. Trump did that.

I agree to a large extent, but there is more than one way to skin a cat. The Spurs can put together a great defensive squad that lacks offensive firepower and have that be a very good second season in the rebuilding process. I don't think the Spurs should get Clingan to avoid another team getting...

Which is why they should be exploring something along the lines of Graham, 4, 8 and the Hawks '26 and '27 1sts for Murray and 1 to select Risacher. Fill the two biggest needs, have a roster that fits much better, hopefully play meaningful games deep into the regular season and still have plenty...
