I rate Dillingham/Castle/Risacher higher than Sheppard. I don't mind him at 8 if we took one of the others before, though, he's a good fit but I like the ceiling of the others better.

This is just speculation, but I believe there is enough profit margin in the league to absorb any short turn economic downturn. For example, NBA revenues were down 9.5% during the first year of the Pandemic, and then 19% the second year, which honestly doesn't seem that bad considering they were...

i absolutely agree that the spurs value length which is why i'm baffled that LJ would put dillingham on top of their draft board. i would rather that the spurs have, and draft for, length as well, just so that they can matchup better against the other teams with great length-such as the t-wolves...

Dillingham shared ball handling duties with Sheppard and does well on catch and shoot 3s. He's able to play off the ball. He's also very good at relocating.

Wouldn't mind him as a project. I don't really care if he's a jump shooter or not. He should just be a good rim protector and make the easy buckets on offense. Anything above that is a plus.

IDK I like him on both talent and fit. I don't think he's much of dropoff from Castle or Risacher, though I like Dillingham a little better.

The thing that will affect the NBA is the aftermath of any economic downturn, the CBA afterwards. Their media money is locked in for the duration of the deals, as are the pay scales.

Well, yeah, sure, there's plenty of guys you can take. My point is I see that as quite a drop going forward, in terms of talent or fit.

What happens to all these salary increases and team valuations if there is a serious financial downturn in the economy. You have to think that all of the contracts and valuations are built on the assumption that the NBA has an unlimited potential upward in the future. Although there is no...

Those stats are also for only 3 games. Could be a Wiseman type thing, looks like a world beater in a micro sample.

I don't see the Mills comparison at all. Sheppard had a better 2pt%, a better 3pt%, and significantly more assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks in fewer minutes. Sochan was a 6'9" PG for part of last season, but that's where the Magic Johnson comparisons end.

Take a look at https://tankathon.com/players/ulrich-chomche He was recently mocked at 38, but I think he's not having a good combine so he's actually mocked to our 48 pick right now. 6'11.5" (barefoot i think) PF/C with a 7'4" Wingspan. He's faster and more agile than Edey. Per 36min he had:...

I think Big Daddy and Drummond would both be nice in that role, but I think we're just gonna have to roll with Collins for at least another year. It's not worth it to try and dump his salary with two years left, and it doesn't make sense to dump significant money into another backup C. I'm not...

Glad people are finally really looking at this kid as I think he is one of the top 4 best defenders regarding Guards/Forwards coming out of this draft - Carter, Howard, Castle, and Dunn, are all all great defenders but none come close to him right now on the offensive side of the ball. Also, I...

Yeah, next year's draft shouldn't really play into the strategy of this one at all. Some of these prospects may (and probably will) fizzle out, and you have no clue where you'll be picking. You stick with your board this year and deal with next year when the time comes.

Sheppard makes sense next to a big point guard, or someone who can take some point duties who can cover for his lack of size on defense. One reason why Houston is potentially a fit, with Amen. A Castle-Sheppard selection makes sense in the same way. They can both run actions and Castle covers...

Just try and get Charlotte to give you 6 for 8 + their pick back and take both. They may very well compliment each other better than any pair we could pick.

Yea I'm not taking Sheppard at 4 personally. Much rather have Castle. But at 8 he becomes a real consideration if he's still on the board imo, depending on who else is available of course.
