if we take Sarr and he becomes a good enough shooter to stick at the 4, sochan becomes a versatile bench player

I don't buy and am not advocating Stein's seeming indication that Sarr would be the target in a trade up to 1 scenario, but I'll play along: If true, Sochan needs to go (as a poor man's Jalen Johnson, he probably wouldn't have much value to them though). If they're going Eiffel Towers, then the...

I wasn't even thinking about him, but the last few times I checked RealGM trade forum, there was a Barnes topic. With Monk extension, they're over the cap and Barnes looks to be the odd man out considering his role keeps decreasing. Went from 36 to 29mpg over the past three years. One idea was...

Sochan at the 3 with Sarr are the 4 would be absurd and completely out of touch with the modern NBA. This team needs significantly more shooting and play making, not less.

Very interesting player and potential. Is it likely that Castle will be there at number 4, and if he is, would the Spurs take him?

Barnes started to fall off a cliff last season. He's still useful and depending on how the draft shakes out, I wouldn't mind him, but the Kings aren't just going to give him away. They don't need to free up space for Monk, so instead they're trying to turn Barnes, Huerter and draft capital into...

Yeah, at first I was thinking traditional PG who basically has the ball the majority of time but after seeing Wemby play I don't think he would be happy with that. He is going to want to get a lot of touches which is why I am leaning towards Castle

Lonzo most definitely is (was) a point guard. I think we're too quick to dismiss if someone can or can't develop certain skills. If we managed to develop Demar into an efficent point guard in his late 20s, anything could happen. My biggest concern with Sheppard is if he can develop his...

Both Castle and Sheppard can be "point guards", but not necessarily in the traditional sense like a Trae, CP3, or Luka. Castle can probably be a point guard in the same way that smart or suggs is a point guard. Sheppard can probably be a point guard in the same way that lonzo is a point guard.

So... I think we're looking at what most of us think - Clingan, Sarr, probably Sheppard Then the big question we all have about Risacher or Castle for the Spurs.

Yeah, I'm not even convinced they'd pick Risacher over Sheppard or Castle if all three are available, much less trade up to get him. Atlanta is in a bad spot. There's a weird disadvantage in getting the #1 in this draft with their needs. My feeling is Risacher is still a screen, or rather bait,...

Because if we want to Wemby and actually useful guys to develop, we need them to have some competent teammates that are actually positive contributors. Not Zach Collins level veterans, but actually useful veterans. I don't want CP3 because he's done. I don't think I want Harris, either. He's...

When was the last time everyone kept talking about a Spurs trade target and it actually happened? That's why I think Risacher interest isn't a thing. Unless he's there at #4.

a lot of options for the Spurs tbh. We have a load of 2nd rounders including #35 and could trade them for NOLA and Suns first. Then we could package those for players or trade ups. I like our situation.

I don’t think they need to be ball dominant. And I wouldn’t want a PG that is ball dominant. But they do need to learn how to slow down the tempo of the game, run a half court offense, and hit timely shots when called on. If we went all in on fast break offense then I think I would rather have...

I think Tyler is definitely going to go in the 12 to 15 range and I would pick him over Salaun all day every day. Three other players I would think they would target if trading back would be Da Silva, Furpy, and Carlton Carrington

No. They're both more than good enough to play in the Spurs system, and both would get even better. They're smart basketball players. If the concern is getting Wemby the ball, Castle was very good at getting Clingan under the basket or in posts. That wouldn't be an issue.

why do people want players over 30 who'd just take playing time away from the young guys? I get getting a vet or 2 for the bench, but Harris or Paul? We should try to get players for the long term future.
