All the people who mocked the Kings for taking Murray over Ivey could wind up looking like idiots. I know it's easy to laugh at the Kings, but Murray had the highest floor in the draft imho.

I like Sochan a lot but you’re fooling yourself if you think he was higher on the Spurs draft board than Keegan

Yeah, I was thinking if we have to throw the CHA pick into the pot, they’re taking McD, and we can monetize JRich elsewhere for another FRP.

So what is going on with this guy? If Utah really wanted him they’d just tender an offer sheet now, no? I think they have space after the Gobert deal. Danny relishes being the turd in the Punchbowl in these types of situations (KD trade here), so something else must being going on.

Spurs are just a player farm for the rest of the league, it’ll be a long time and regime change to get a winning team again. Keldon and Vassell need to start packing their bags so whenever the Suns or Milwaukee come calling they’ll be ready to go. Its like being called up from the a triple A team...

Again, I’d argue it makes just as much sense now because Ayton needs growth to be his best player, and the growth will come through a lot of trial and error for a year or 2. And, yea, the new TV money gonna make Ayton’s deal look like 18-20 million now. No reason to fear giving him the Max...

There was never a complaint of his growth or development or commitment in 4 years until game 7’s blowup. It has never happened publicly before, and, simply put, it never occurred in any fashion that could be rumored in the media. In game 7 you had a player who averaged 18-9 on 60% FG refuse to go...

Yeah l love Sochan and he was my guy since about Feb this year. I would probably struggle to pull the trigger on a Sochan for Keegan Murray trade too if I think about who’s going to have more impact on winning, despite what I said a few hours ago :lol

I get that. To me it’s letting Primo clean those acts. Normally if you’re winning, like with the Big 3, you don’t give the Rookie the rock. But they’re not. Allowing Kobe to hit those 3’s was because Jackson believed Kobe had it in him (boy I hate Phil but I had to use that scenario). Pop sees...

I wanted him before we traded Murray. Now it really doesn't make sense. Also with the new TV deal kicking in soon, a max contract for Ayton gonna look quite ok long term when other players make 60 million per year

I think it could be a combination of things. But I believe money was a bigger reason. I also think Murray isn't in the same timeline as the youngsters. If they were 2 years ahead, we would be winning. Rookie extensions would be signed. Maxing Murray would hurt less. Things like that. I don't think...

Just to clarify the “a-hole type confidence.” I like it :lol He feels he’s the best in the court. That’s alpha mentality and that’s special. And that “a-hole type” I normally associate with greats like Bird, Kobe, MJ, even TP to some degree. I admit I didn’t watch a lot of Wesley. I was...

I never said they should trade away every player who looks good. Get your facts straight. Just trade away Poeltl and J-Rich and they'll lose a lot. Also there's no year of lost development if you just gut the team and Pop coaches them to play the right way. That's a stupid statement. They not...

So you think it’s the former? Which I respectfully get it and I know that played a big role. Just to me it’s more of Primo eclipsing DJ eventually and DJ is on the way. Like sending White out for Vassell. Vassell will be better than White at 2.

Like timvp said. Spurs probably still let go of Murray at that asking price. There was obviously some motivation tion to move on. One of them is that the Spurs couldn't extend him at his value. They would require for him to become a free agent. In which obviously you risk losing him. That...

I agree mostly, except to me Sochan will have the highest upsides because of his role on both sides of the court. But I agree that Wesley could be a freak athletic scorer, again I hate to compare but to make it simple, Ja Morant type. He has that mentality and edge. That part both excites and...

Nah Sochan would be better. Keegan could be a better scorer, but Sochan would be a better all-around player. Maybe on this draft only Chet is better as far as being all-around. I hate to compare, but yes Timmy is so much better because he’s best all-around than a TMac or Vince Carter who could...

The reason can be:a) character issues Or b) him not being considered still an elite big man. Obviously in case a) (expecially if supported by Monty's feedback) I would be the first to say we have to avoid him; but it's not that impossible the hypothesis b). We already had heard that samr/most gms...

I’m sorry but I trust Spurs coaching than any ST posters in evaluating talent. If they’re willing to let a homegrown star for this kid. Then this kid must really be something. That they were able to mark Kawhi at 15, and to trade a favorite player to get him. That’s the vibes I’m getting on...

I originally thought this, but I think Wesley could benefit from the kind of treatment Primo got last year. First half of the season in Austin, with occasional call ups, closing out the season with some significant minutes with the big club. Branham should get more of a Vassell-like treatment, and...
