Yeah, I've noticed that videos of guys blocking out or making smart defensive rotations aren't very popular on youtube.... That was a damn nice dunk though!

Yeah-- his wingspan is 7'4". George Hill has a good wingspan for a guard too, at 6'9".

Spurs went for the all-wingspan draft this year. They missed out on Mbah A Moute, I guess.

Went to a solid basketball school in maryland too.

What the hell, its the 57th pick.

If he makes the Toros its a win.

Long shot, but.

That could be a darn good David West defender if he turned out any good :lol

Hill = Good choice

Gist = Fair choice; could become good

Malik = Man.... Hendrix was still on the board!

What makes Hendrix so much better than Gist?

Brutalis

Gist has potential. Probably won't ever wear a Spurs uni however.

Why is that.

Not picking on you bro but that's my point from the other thread, you put words in peoples mouths too often.

Brutalis

Why is that.

Because today I asked God to draft him for us, and God said if he does he won't ever see a Spurs uni. So whatever, I reserved the hope that he could work his way up.

What the fuck does it matter? I think the kid doesn't have it yet. Two years in D League and go from there.

He apparently liked Hendrix and thought he should've been drafted.

What makes Hendrix better than Gist?

Its a simple question.

Learn what putting words in people's mouths is.

So he spends 2 years in the D league and if he doesn't make it, so fucking what, hes the 57th pick of the draft.

I don't understand why Gist is being put into that category of "He's a late second round pick, he'll be lucky to make the training camp roster." or "He's a late second round, he'll take time to make it."

Why? I know that's the norm for most player selected in the second round but since 2000 these players have gone late in the second:

Kyle Korver
James Jones
Michael Redd
Matt Barnes
Luis Scola
Matt Bonner
Trevor Ariza
Ryan Gomes
Paul Millsap
Leon Powe

Of course they are the exception and not the rule but why can't Gist be as well.

Also, that's not including the did not get drafted but still made it into the league players.

What makes Hendrix so much better than Gist?

Because Hendrix was that bruiser that could come in right away be a back up. Like I said, my problem wasn't drafting Gist, ir was drafting Dragic, which then turned into Malik.

Gist has great athleticism, long, can block shots.

He looks like a long more athletic Malik Rose.

I think alot depends on how he does in summer league, and his attitude twords things and what not.

In a draft deep on bigs and lots of teams needing them, Golden State of all people took him.

I don't think they thought of him, not just the Spurs but others, very highly.

Golden State took him after the Spurs used their 45th pick on Dargic.

That was a sick dunk however. Pause it right when he gets up, two hands on the ball like several feet away from the basket. Nasty!
