I'll play.
How much is he making?
Who do we possibly have that they'd want, that could make the salaries match?

I think he makes 10 mil a season. I could be completely wrong though. Either way we don't have anyone to trade for him so really there was no point at all in starting this thread.

It's amazing how his team (Charlotte) was all over his jock and so-hell bent to resign him last summer, yet now they want to ship the guy out. For what it's worth, he's still their player - like it or not.

You realize that they now have LB as their coach, and he demands much more than just running up and down the court. You actually have to be able to play smart basketball in his system.

If Memphis could do it... I am sure the Spurs could come up with some type of trade. How about the Spurs throw in 2008 (Yes, Hill) - 2010 first round draft picks... that should even it up along w/Bonner and Vaughn.

You're not even halfway to making the salaries work. Bonner makes like $3M and Vaughn makes like $1M. Keep going, and let me know when you've gutted the roster enough for a player likely to fail in any system, let alone the Spurs system. Wallace would do well somewhere like Denver where they never run plays or play defense. I think he would fail miserably here.
Oh, and we cannot trade our 2010 pick, since we've traded our 2009 pick to Seattle already. You cannot trade your actual first round pick in consecutive years.

if he can't play smart basketball why would we want him? Pop is better than Larry Brown in my opinion and should be aware of his limitations too.

My response was sarcastic... not actually being realistic.
Obviously, it wouldn't have worked, but I do get tired of these threads where everyone out of the Spurs price range should be traded for.
It was also a shot at the league for allowing such a bogus trade for Gasol to happen.

Great defense, but too much of an offensive liability. Pass.

All a player has to do is get on YouTube, throw doem some dunks, a cross over here and there and Voila! instant allstar who everyone wants!

Completely forgot about that. Better parachute out now.
