C-, but when you win every year it's hard to expect much better.
hahaha. Lomita: I like it. Other options (maybe they suck, I don't know): Mount Jorge, Loma Indiana, Indiana George, and oowee-poowee-3.

C.....we need an athletic wing more than back up point guard who will have to fight an experienced PG (Vaughn) and two combo guards ( Manu & Barry) for 14 minutes a night of in relief of Parker. Also, we probably could have gotten Hill in the second.
Last, we did business AGAIN with the Suns. Did we forget what happened the last time we traded a draft pick to them?

Incomplete. Draft grades make no sense. We should probably wait until at least the end of the season so we can see how George Hill will help/hurt our squad.

The Spurs shall receive a grade of D-. They chose to stand pat instead of trading up for the #1 overall selection to take George Hill. However, George Hill chose to inexplicably fall to the Spurs at #26, and by fulfilling destiny and taking George Hill, they shall recieve a passing mark.

Agreed. A few years ago the Bucks got A grades from lots of draft experts. Now those same experts probably laugh at cocktail parties telling stories about how dumb the Bucks were for taking Bogut ahead of Chris Paul...

Your asking for failure if you draft a big white guy in the lottery. There have been many busts and very few have worked out.

Even fewer players, lottery pick or no, that are Chris Paul's size have worked out, so it's understandable why they passed on him.

I love how this Portland Trailblazer fan comes out the woodworks and starts talking stuff. Your franchise is the epitome of an asshole. And now that you have amassed hundreds of lottery picks and Roy has a breakout season, now you have the audacity to come out the hell hole that you (and the rest of the blazer fans) have been hiding under for the past 5-6 years and dare utter a word about the Spurs and our draft class?
Shameless

It seems to me as though you should worry more about gettin Mr. Greg "I have the knees of a 300 old woman" Oden out on the court and making the playoffs then grading THE San Antonio Spurs

What hes getting at is that it's tlongII that said it. Were it some other, newer, poster than tlongII then it would be different. But tlongII has been here so long that people respect and/or accept his quality. With time you'll figure out who is just playing the fool and who the actual trolls are.
In other words, don't worry about it. Hes just foolin'.

The Spurs get a B. They used their 1st round pick on someone who has a legit shot at making the rotation and making an impact next season. They turned one of their 2nd round picks into two 2nd round picks plus half a mil. Hairston and Gist were good shots at finding someone who might turn into a decent role player in a year or two with some seasoning. Overall, they drafted three domestic players who will be available to join the team today instead of potentially being good 2 years from now but unavailable due to contractual issues abroad. They don't get an A, for now, because they did pass on some available talent who might turn into something more than a reliable backup, plus the fact that Hill was somewhat of a reach at #26. Based on what we know today, it was a solid draft and one I'm not going to lose any sleep over.
