OK. I looked long and hard for a possible silver (and black) lining for the Spurs not repeating. I had to reach, but I found one:

At least I didn't have to resubscribe to Sports Illustrated again this year.

Every year the Spurs win the title, I re-subscribe to SI in order to get the championship kit, which as most of you know, included the Championship DVD, T-Shirt and Commemorative hardcover mag.

My subscription just ran out - which is OK by me because I don't particularly care for the magazine. Since our are the "odd-year" champions, I'll gladly re-up when they win the 2009 title and any other time thereafter.

I told you I had to reach long for that one.

Does anyone else have a similarly, ridiculous silver and black lining? :rollin

Are you sure your subscription "ran out"? Those bastards tried to run an automatic renewal against a closed credit card account and then reported me to the credit agencies for non-payment. I then returned the favor and reported them to the BBB for being assholes. I won, and the issue was resolved in my favor.

Those bastards!

I'll check to make sure.

Good looking out.

Fuckin' ESPN renewed my Insider subscription even tho the credit card they had on file was expired.

The Spurs got a backup point guard without spending a penny on the MLE or LLE.

The Spurs got a potential long 3 and Bowen replacement, and another potential solid shooting guard.

The Summer is off to a good start IMO.

Did they report you for non-payment because the card was expired?

The lining you seek is that the Spurs selected George Hill.

The lining you seek is that the Spurs selected George Hill.

I have already trademarked "George Hill: 2008-09 NBA Rookie of the Year, 2008-09 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 2008-09 NBA Scoring Champion, 2008-09 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 2008-09 All-NBA First Team, 2008-09 All-NBA Defense First Team, 2008-09 NBA League MVP, 2008-09 NBA Finals MVP" as well as "George Hill: 2009-10 NBA Most Improved Player"

I expect those terms to be used at least 9001 billion times during the playoffs alone, so when all those media outlets start paying me royalties on the trademarks, I'm going to be the richest man in the world.
