I wouldn't ever get bacon on a hamburger, but I agree that bacon at Applebee's is just too big. I always have to rearrange my burgers because everything isn't distributed properly. And that chicken-fried bacon looks terrible; some men would eat a turd if it was chicken-fried!!!

One time back when I was in high school, we stopped by the Jim's on Perrin Beitel for some after-hours eats. My buddy ordered the Burger Melt, and the waitress said, "you know that doesn't come with any bread". He says okay and orders it anyway and we have a few alcohol-influenced jokes about it.

So a few weeks later, we pull up to the same Jim's, and he orders the Burger Melt again. And I laugh and say, "you know that doesn't come with any bread". He says "that's okay, I brought my own", reaches into his coat pocket, and pulls out two naked pices of Wonder Bread. We all nearly died on the spot.

Dunno why, this thread made me think about that.
