that there is a "number of players on the free agent list" that they will talk to and hopefully "put something together" for them to become Spurs.

So, as usual, he said nothing.

They didn't list Barry nor Vaughn as free agents. Hopefully they didn't opt out.

pretty much. But at least he sounded like they were really looking to talk to some of these guys, and actually offer them contracts.

and I know it doesn't mean much, because he's an idiot, but Simmons said the Spurs will most likely resign Finley.

If he is referring to a player with Matt Bonner talent>>>>>we are in real deep trouble>

There's not that much available. Gonna be tough to put a complete team together for next season.

Almost as good as a McDonald article.

The one good thing... is that it didn't sound like he was referring to anyone who is already in house or has already been a Spur meaning new blood could be coming aboard.

Keep your fingers crossed...

bigdog

he did say "become" Spurs, so at least they're looking at guys that aren't their own free agents.

Hell, I guess I'm just trying to find a way to be optimistic about this. lol

I hope Brand bumps his head and agrees to sign for a contract that starts at the mid level. Wishful think I know, but it's time Timmy got some help from a PF/C. He hasn't had anyone to help him down low since 5-0 was around. Please Pop get an impact player!

McDonald was on Paul Alexander's show "Bringin' It" on AM 1250.

I am hoping the guy grows into something but it was pretty clear he didn't have anything beyond speculation or what he reads elsewhere.

There is for sure a lot of smokescreen but I'm quite sure Pop is committed to significantly tweak the team for the next year. Pop saying that George Hill should have an impact as soon as in his first year is quite significant that Pop wants to reload the team.

I really tried to give the guy a chance, after Ludden it wasn't going to be easy for anyone to step in. But I just can't warm up to McDonald. He screws up too often, I can't get past him not getting facts straight before it hits the paper/net. I post his articles because he's a Spurs reporter.

Right. Before the draft he had said that he didn't expect to find anyone in the draft who could contribute next season. Now he's saying he doesn't expect much to change after free agency...

He's said the same every year and they've never smokescreened anything. This looks like a stay pat year.

what the hell is your problem? first you go to one extreme and being a fan of the team when the going gets tough against seattle and now you go to the other extreme and are extra sensitive anytime someone is critical of the FO. Give it a break, we're all convinced you're a "real" fan.

Lol, and I thought you needed the LA fans to rile you up here.

I guess you just need some of your fellows to bring out some brouhaha here. :lmao
