Wednesday report
Haven't heard a word from either C.J. Miles or his agent here at the start of the free-agent negotiating period. You have to wonder what kind of interest Miles is drawing from other teams as well as whether the Jazz are making any attempt to sign him to a multiyear deal.

Miles was reported Wednesday by a Michigan newspaper as a target of Pistons GM Joe Dumars, along with Portland's James Jones and Golden State's Mickael Pietrus. Jones and Pietrus are both unrestricted free agents, while Miles is restricted.

The Pistons were news to me: I heard Miami, Cleveland, Dallas and San Antonio were among the most interested in Miles last year. Seattle might be in the mix this year with new assistant general manager Troy Weaver's Jazz ties.

Still has some potential left in him, I wouldn't mind getting him if Maggette goes elsewhere.

I like his shot. He's very young and could very well blossom if given the playing time.

If Delfino fell through I wouldn't mind making a small run at him. But how much could he possibly go for?

Maybe a two year deal around $4 w/an option for a third. I have no idea.

For the LLE or the Biannual I think he'd be worth a shot. We're obviously more interested in Delfino though. But assuming he goes elsewhere then I'd take a passing shot at the would-be Longhorn.

I don't like Delfino that much. I don't know why though. I can't put my finger on it. Too me he's not too consistent.

I think CJ Miles and Delfino would be good pick ups. Any chance we could get both?

Doesn't look that bad on youtube. Athletic, can shoot and take it to the rim. How's his defense?

No thanks. Does anyone see CJ being a difference maker against a team like LA?

The Spurs are interested in everybody according to the media, but they never get a fucking one of them.

Nuh-uh, no way, and I'd rather not.

Pretty simple really...he's not that good. Or, he hasn't played up to his potential yet. He seems very indifferent to me when he's on the floor. In other words, he could play 25 min. a game and you'd never know it. He doesn't play with any real desire or competitiveness.

Perhaps the Spurs think it will help that Delfino can team up with Ginobili and Oberto.

Is anybody we get going to be a difference maker? i cant see Azibuke, JR Smith etc..being a "difference maker"...Maggette would be a difference maker, not any of the 2nd 3rd or 4th tier fa's

JR Smith could easily be a "difference maker".

Azibuike, not so much probably...

He didn't do too bad during a regular season game last year against LA - 18 pts. He played very few minutes during the LA playoff series though. http://www.nba.com/games/20071228/UTALAL/boxscore.html

I thought the Lakers were a soft, weak, pussy, fluke team that only beat the Spurs because Manu was injured. I mean Bynum is a bust and is never going to be able to jump again with his knee injury and Kobe is going to demand a trade this off-season right? Why worry about them?

Are we getting so desperate for news or to manufacture news that we're rehashing interest the Spurs had from LAST summer? Re-read the blurb in the original post, and come down from the shower rod.

Miles would be ok but I think we need more of a proven vet to play the starting SG spot.
