So I turned on the radio out of boredom just now and have been listening to "AM Coast to Coast" for about an hour.
Apparently America and the rest of the world is getting very close to a globalized uber depression. So far they have covered the pointless expensive war, corruptness of our government, the downfall of our dollar, illegality and destruction by the Federal Reserve, the dumbing down of our schools, the massive job loss combined with increase in government jobs, and so on. Even mention of a globalized goal by the ELITES to kill off the middle class. It's doom and gloom stuff, but it makes so much sense!
This shit is scary. The worst part is everyone is caught up in this bullshit election where nothing will really get solved no matter the "winner".

And our next president will be blamed.
How many times in the past have I said we are screwed no matter who is elected? I'd rather let a demonrat take the fall then a republican.

I truly feel the next 4 to 8 years will be a very scary rollercoaster ride. and the next president won't be blamed. bush will. we aren't allowed to talk about his wife, where he went to church for 20 years, his mom, or mention his middle name. we're damned sure going to be told not to blame him for anything that goes wrong while Obamessiah is in office. I wish all these Obamicons would see past his skin and magic tricks

Really sad part. We have almost full employment,
unemployment rate around 5.6 percent, consdered by most as full employment. We still have an expanding economy. Growth in last quarter about 1 percent, small but still growing. We are not in a recession.
From some indications the housing market is getting set to make a comeback and in some markets it has already turned around.
Our export market is booming. Yes our oil prices are through the roof, but that is because of the stupid dimm-o-craps in Washington and wont change our policy on drilling our own oil. People are getting fed up with that policy and pressure is being brought the bear. Conservation alone will not solve the problem and their are no alternative energy products that will fill oil's needs in the short or long range future.
Gloom and Doom is what the dimm-o-crap liberals want everyone to feel. Things are not as bad a MSM and the liberals would have you believe.
If the dimms and libs want to have a recession, let them, I refuse to participate. I am doing quite well and everyone I know is doing likewise.

The Repugs and WCs will blame the next president for all the failures of dubya and dickhead that carry past 20 Jan 09, just like the Repugs blamed 9/11 on Clinton, rather than assume full responsibility for 9/11 occurring on dubya's watch.

I agree. Even the slip in unemployment rate was deemed as new workers trying to enter the work force after completing high school and college. That is when we took a minor jump in unemployment rate recently.
The demonrats will over and over preach gloom and doom. It should be obvious to anyone paying attention they want to control our lives. Look at what they do. They cite a problem and want us to turn over more tax dollars, higher more government employees to fix created problems.
You lemming libtards believe it. You vote for who will help you rather than helping yourselves. If you don't want to succeed on your own, then please move back with your parents. Government is not the answer. The best government we can have will stay our of our lives and only provide security, justice, etc. Social programs will be the death of this nation.

Wrong.
I will blame who is to blame. My point is that we will have serious problems in this country following the '08 elections. I will hold to that believe unless somehow republicans retake control of congress.
Bush tax cuts will expire unless we have a congress willing to renew it. The bottom tax payers will see their federal income tax increase from a 10% rate to a 15% rate. A 50% increase in taxes. Everyone elses taxes will increase too.
The demonrats will pass legislation destructive to this nation. Obama will sign whatever they pass, and McCain will make a stink about some things, but likely sign it too. I don't see him vetoing anything with how much he sleeps with the demonrats.
I could go on, but why. I still spend more time here than I should.

All the US has to do is wipe out all unsecured debts and the problem is solved... Those stimulus checks were just the beginning, although $6,000 would have been a hell of a lot better than $600. $600 didn't go far, car payment, phone and cable bill, and a tank of gas. Whoooooooooooo!

OMG WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!
If, in eight years, the US is in a stronger position, and we are better off overall, we will once again have the Democrats to blame for cleaning up a Republican mess.
We'll all get to see what will happen, I guess, but "the end is near" hand-wringing because your favorite political party deservedly loses an election really rings hollow.

I think the thing was a joke, but who am I to say. I have that much uncommitted each paycheck already. It bothers me that peoples votes can be bought so easily. This gimmick wouldn't do as much as if the media would stop lying about how bad things are. A more upbeat set of stories would change the attitude on many consumers and boost the economy more than this measly $600 will in my opinion.

Too many factors to make such an assumption. If the demonrats keep control of congress, I will really be surprised if we don't have a serious decline starting in 2010.

Oh, the end is not that near.
I'm actually glad the republicans got their asses kicked. I just hope they take a close look at their past decisions and remember their base is primarily conservatives. They don't deserve to be in power if they will not provide balance to the left. I want to see all RINOs removed from congress. I never imagined a RINO like McCain becoming the republican presidential candidate. The 2006 shakeup didn't bother me at all. I think it is necessary to weed out those not worthy.

Coast to Coast AM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coast_to_coast_am) is a special program. I love it myself. There are loonie toons on it, and professionals both. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish. They are very often right when it comes to politics, but then you'll also find those with loose change and loose marbles.
If you've never heard it, you should tune in sometime. One show may not be enough to get a feel for it because those that George or the weekend hosts interviews vary so much.
so basically you used the check in such a way as to not stimulate the economy at all?
They didn't even give me a stimulus check, the bastards. Great idea, though. Give lots of people money but fuck the people that need it most by not giving them any.

Many Americans have bravely stepped up to the plate in that regard.
President Bush Boosts Porn Industry With Economic Stimulus Plan, According to AIMRCo (http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnw/20080702/pl_usnw/president_bush_boosts_porn_industry_with_economic_ stimulus_plan__according_to_aimrco)
Wed Jul 2, 7:55 AM ET
NEW YORK, July 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An unforeseen and surprising beneficiary of the Economic Stimulus Plan, a plan that George Bush contends will "boost our economy and encourage job creation," has surfaced this week. An independent market-research firm, AIMRCo (Adult Internet Market Research Company), has discovered that many websites focused on adult or erotic material have experienced an upswing in sales in the recent weeks since checks have appeared in millions of Americans' mailboxes across the country.
According to Kirk Mishkin, Head Research Consultant for AIMRCo, "Many of the sites we surveyed have reported 20-30% growth in membership rates since mid-May when the checks were first sent out, and typically the summer is a slow period for this market."
Jillian Fox, spokeswoman for LSGmodels.com, one of the sites reporting figures to AIMRCo, added, "In a June 15, 2008 survey to our members, thirty two percent of respondents referenced the recent stimulus package as part of their decision to either become a new member, or renew an existing membership."
The economic stimulus plan, which includes a check for up to $600 for individuals and $1200 for married couples (among other benefits), is the product of an agreement between House leaders and the Bush Administration, focused on reviving a struggling economy in the wake of a flagging economy.
Fox also added, "Getting more people to buy porn was probably the last thing Bush had on his mind when he came up with his 'stimulus package,' but we'll take it."

I have listened to it once or twice. There is a good investment/personal finance guy on it, but the rest of it just wasn't worth my time.
