If Maggette isn't being penciled in at the #2 than who will it be? All this 'athletic swingman/athletic wing' banter has me confused. Don't we need a player who can eliminate the Finley/Barry/Manu rotation at #2 than who will the #2 guard be. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO OUR TROOPS WHO REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS DECISION.

Don't we need a player to eliminate the Finley/Barry/Manu rotation? Yes, sort of. We need 2 players to eliminate the Finley/Barry rotation. Manu role is well-defined. However because he will be participating in the Olympics, his minutes will be severely limited at the start of next season.
Who will be the Spurs starter @ the 2-guard position? Obviously, we wont know until someone signs a contract. The popular choice here in Maggette. The second favorite choice is Mickeal Pietrus.
Both Maggette and/or Pietrus would likely be the Finley replacement. Carlos Delfino has been mentioned as a possible 2nd swingman replacement for Barry.
If the Spurs can come out of this summer with a combination of:
Maggette/Delfino
Pietrus/Defino
It will be a successful summer.

Will Magette have the temperment to realize he's starting only to save Manu's minutes to protect his health?
Is Magette going to be on the bench in crunch time--or will we be forced into small ball with Duncan, Bowen, Magette, Parker, Manu?

Again, even when you don't go small - Maggette would be in at the 2/3 in offensive situations during crunch time and Bowen would be in for defensive purposes.

I think you misread what I posted. Manu would be on the floor regardless. I was talking about subbing in Maggette for Bowen, or vice versa.
