Do you guys have a certain process in determining the kind of virus/es and the procedures on how to remove it?

I only rely on the combination of AVG, spybot and adaware..I heard you still have to clean up the registry.

Seriously, I haven't had a virus in 4 years.

It's easy.

1. Don't open attachments unless you are expecting it
2. Use Firefox with NoScript
3. Stop trusting everyone and everything. Just because a virus scanner is number 2 in google doesn't mean it's not a scam. When in doubt, enter the company's name into wikipedia.

It's too bad you don't use Linux. One simple command will erase all viruses:

sudo rm -rf /
