"We're thrilled that Corey decided to sign with Boston. It will help him develop on a Championship caliber team, and we hope to bring him over the next time he's available. Good luck to Corey in his future endeavours"

Sounds good to me. I'd rather have a mediocre player that wants to play for us than a half hearted one.

"We offered Corey Maggette the maximum amount that we could and did everything in our power to recruit him to San Antonio, but unfortunately he chose to go in a different direction. Nevertheless we've still won 4 championships in the past decade together with the best winning percentage in all of professional sports during that time, and if Corey's decision makes me an incompetent baffoon to some of our never-satisfied fans, so be it."

"Welp, maybe it's time to go with Lindsey's idea of trading the draft rights to Splitter, Hill plus Matt Bonner and an unprotected 2011 first round pick to the Houston Rockets for Steve Francis's expiring contract."

"Unfortunately we missed out on signing Corey and i know 75% of Spurstalk posters will be calling for my head, but when we win the 2008-09 NBA title, those same people will flip flop (as usual) and attempt to save face and say they didn't want Corey anyway"

Why does RC have to say anything? It's Maggette's decision.

If it does happen, he'll be asked about it. Just like they asked him about Splitter.

We're very excited that Maggette has signed for extra money with Golden State. That gives us the chance to sign a player who isn't all about the money and that also gives Bruce another victim to his defensive abilities.
